Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Tuesday

Poor Jack Weiss. He's about to become the subject of a recall effort and his colleagues on the City Clowncil aren't jumping up to help him. Rick Orlov reports that one unnamed Council Member said of Weiss "Jack is getting what he deserves. If he treats his constituents like he treats us, this is no surprise. (anyone know who this might have been?)" Wacko Jacko's latest move that pissed off his fellow Clowncilers was his blowing off the Council meeting to attend a Police Commission hearing where TV cameras were waiting. His absence caused the Council to fail to reach quorum and conduct their regular meeting.

Longtime Democratic hack Garry South isn't so sure that a Democrat can take the Governor's seat in 2010 whether its Antonio Villaraigosa or Gavin Newsom (though Jerry Brown may have a better chance). Democrats have lost six of the last eight gubernatorial elections and none of the current candidates have the deep pockets necessary to win.

Mayor V may not have all the jack yet to run for Governor, but he apparently has enough to reserve a condo at the new LA Live development downtown, where units are said to go for anywhere from $1.8 to $5 million apiece. Also on board: Governor Schwarzenegger.

Bay Area transit planners are taking a look at the Metro Orange Line in the San Fernando Valley as inspiration for a new system in Alameda County. East Bay bus agency AC Transit plans to hold a series of hearings this month to consider a new bus rapid transit (BRT) line to run between Oakland and San Leandro.

And finally, all those Neighborhood Councils stocking up on emergency supplies from the Do-It Center may want to bring their final purchases to the register quick like. A psychic appearing on conspiracy and UFO talk show host George Noory's syndicated Coast to Coast AM radio program says LA is due for a major quake this month.

Its funny that council members are criticizing Weiss Ass who I think should be recalled. The problem is they're such gutless, spineless, leaderless fools themselves they can't even say who they are to a reporter. I hope David Hernandez & Ted Hayes prevail at their court hearing Thursday to overturn Prop R and get rid of all those fools we call city council members.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen (removes hat and bows low with flourish):

I had the pleasure of lunching with Madame Wu (infamous City Hall secret keeper) and she was gracious enough to let me have a fortune cookie to take home with me, savvy? And according to my fortune, someone over in Pacoima is in hot water with respect to trying to get the airport closed so that the land can be developed. Now who do you suppose would want to do that? And more importantly, where will Capt. Jack Sparrow hangar his own aeroplane? Certainly not at Van Nuys where the landing fees are about to be hiked (like some other fees we know of, savvy?). But then again, who else keeps their craft hangared there? Three guesses and no more.

(Looks up at the sky)
It's going to take more than keeping a weathered eye on the horizon.
