Now that District 2 Councilmember Wendy Greuel has announced her plans to run for City Controller in 2009, the sweepstakes is on for those who will finish up her remaining two years and serve another eight years after that.The following is a list of names of possible contenders; feel free to comment, anaylze and add your own candidates to the list:

don't insult me. thining i would run for CD 2 CM? I feel it's beneath me, at this point. I am more likely to run for Controller, myself.
Besides, to be a CM means you have to go along with things in violation of City, State and Federal law...and before you know it...
And to Mr. "Funding Problem" -- bro, when I press the button, the funding is there. But again, at this point, I enjoy my own niche.
Maybe controller...but I couldn't be a CM, cause I don't want to be part of such a huge hazard to public safety. But, thanks for putting my name in that company!

I'm truly flattered or insulted ( not sure which).
But , I agree with Zuma, and prefer to be operating from the outside, for the reasons that he mentioned.
I wouldn't mind the paycheck though....
Don't you have to live in the CD in order to run? Don't you have to be sober to run? Don't you have to know something about being a politician to run? If this is true, none of these people qualify.
Could someone please just make Tamar Galatzan go away? We never heard of her before the school board takeover vote and she needs to go do something constuctive, then come back. She is such a Republican disguised as a Democrat.
She's not going to give up her Council position unless and until she wins the Controller's spot, you know. That's how career politicians operate: run for one office while holding another so you never, never have to go into the private sector, where people demand actual service and actual results.
Doesn't matter who wins CD-2, all these hacks are basically the same & the city will still go further down the toilet.

Wendy Greuesome has too much baggage now and will never win controller seat. You think the big westside money people want someone who's defending illegal immigration with her crush Antonio? Hell No. The only qualification to run for CM is not having a conscience or morals and that's the whole bunch. Does Wendy have ANY accounting experience? What is she going to run on, experience taking developer money so now she knows how to count?

We'll see just how protected the dozens and dozens of oak trees are, and if Steven Fink's Fifteen Group's Wyvenwood Apts "Historic Building Consultant" can find a LOOPHOLE to allow developers to demolish the historic buildings, and if chopping down the oak trees can make it past an EIR. AND --- a "Tenant Relocation Consultant" has been hired.
So although no official plans have been presented to CD 14/Boyle Hts CM Jose Huizar. Fink's FIfteen has the plans in the works -- and ZD was told, if they can find the loopholes, they will do a demolition and build condos.

CD 7 MOTION (ALARCON - HAHN) relative to a personal services contract with Felipe Fuentes to provide services to the Seventh Council District.
Recommendations for Council action:
1. APPROVE the personal services contract with Felipe Fuentes to provide services to the Seventh
Council District from April 9, 2007 to June 16, 2007 in an amount not to exceed $20,000 from
funds available in the Council Office budget.

Since she can’t get any votes in Studio City, Sherman Oaks, or Sunland Areas don't forget she is a "San Fernando City" whore and Angelinos wont like a Carpet Bagger. We have enough whores like Alarcon with 82 elections in 6 years (or something like that). We don’t need CM. Sorry sexy.

Felippe is doing ads in cd 2 and will fuck with CM and run for that seat. look at all the TV ad's he is doing do you think he needs to spend money to win assembly NO he is looking at CD2.
Oh and lets not forget Ben Newman a Studio City NC person that is also in it to stay.
I have heard that Studio City Neighborhood Council president Ben Neuman and Fox11 news reporter Phil Shuman may run for Wendy Greuel's CD2 seat. Neumann has been very active in the valley over the past few years and Shuman has decent name recognition.
