I KNEW CM Dennis Zine Was The Least Shady! Plus, Venice Beach Triumphant Update
* ZD FEATURED COMMENT:
Look for a scathing story in tomorrow's paper about ALL CLOWNCIL members EXCEPT ZINE taking political contributions from the Playa Del Rey lobbyists and partners. Rosendahl took $2000 but voted against the project. Good for Bill. Huizar took he $17,000 and Rocky $51,000. The man suing is saying that the Politicial Reform Act states you can't vote on an issue if you've taken money until a a year later. We need to find out how much Antonio got. Channel 4 Bill Moyer aired the dirty secrets.
[ZD attached his cart to the right CM. Check the record, y’all. Although Wesson was an early front-runner, recent Assembly-talk over “9 & 17” pushed Wesson down the chart a bit, from his #1 position on the chart earlier this year. Surpassing him, Greig Smith, for his “break away from the pack, ZD speech, on a few key agenda items. AND, for his new-found appriciation on ZD’s public comment -- and his willingness to spend some of his valuable time to speak to ZD for his articles.
Number 2, on ZD’s year-end anniversary countdown (and #1 fo’ life on Noel Weiss’ Lifetime Achievement list) CM Janice Hahn. I know what she’s doing, and if you oppose Mayor Antonio, you like Janice. She’s trying to steal his thunder with things like LAX Wage Increase, and tells ZD that “Truckers are next.” (Cause we all know, ports are more important than Speilberg from a regional perspective -- and Janice runs the ports, y’all...so those are HER truck drivers, y’all.)
But Council MAN Dennis Zine (he prefers if you don’t call him CouncilMEMBER) went from worst to first on ZD’s list of “Least Hated” Councilmembers, and I’m almost willing to admit I like him. If one CM is gonna break away from the pack, in the name of common sense and the democratic process, it’s John and Ken and Zuma’s favorite, CM Zine. (His staff doesn’t even attack me on Mayor Sam!)
Zuma Dogg is BIG ZD, well Mayor Pro Tem and Future L.A. City Mayor Zuma Dogg proclaims CM Dennis Zine, Big DZ, and like the smiles a whole lot better than the MacArthur Park Death Stares.
Been an interesting 365 days. A lot has change and will continue to change. Be flexible, or to quote Bruce Lee, “Be like wa-ta, my friend. Be like wa-ta!”
* MATT DOWD VENICE BEACH UPDATE:
Even though the police will no longer enforce the Venice Beach vending ban anymore, cause after Dowd, Hunt and Dogg so publicy pummeled it into the ground in the media and court system, they don't wanna have they azz sued, over Antonio and Council's unconstitutional shadiness. And as you know, when you pass a law, then can't enforce it, the problem gets worse...
But luckily, Matt & Hunt will be beating down these shady sunsabitches into a legal bloody pulp and will be begging to overturn the ordinance now, FOOL! Mmmmmmm, that's a mighty tasty veggie burger. Eric Garshady and City Council...Mind if I have a taste of your burger? Now, that's a mighty tasty burger. SAY WHAT AGAIN. SAY WHAT AGAIN... I double, triple dare you...SAY WHAT AGAIN.

and our least favorite Jack Weiss just gave Bratton the kiss of death by endorsing Bratton's second term.
Matt Dowd says open the process up to everyone, so we can all look at some other choices too.
Bratton ain't that great. He just moved all the homeless from Downtown to Venice. I see gang crime is up 15%. yeah, great job Billy, the number one problem in this City is up some 15%.
and Jack Weiss thinks that's good.
and Bratton's bodyguard shoved Zuma Dogg into a wall just as big ZD was about to support him.

"I support the chief's decision to seek a second term because fundamentally the LAPD is on the right track," Weiss said.
fundamentally???
wtf does that mean, Jack????

I like a couple of Lee's quotes myself............
"It's not daily increase but daily decrease - hack away the unessentials!"
"To become different from what we are, we must have some awareness of what we are."
~~~ I read the entire NBC4 report and knowing this happens around the city is one thing, participating in such actions is another. 'Where have all the good men gone....?' (woman also)
My morals over ride instinct to express negative infulence about others, there is plenty of hate in the world that there is no need for me to induce more spite or loathing. Hard for me to comprehend the 'Big Picture' but my sound judgement says..... "Do it for your heart not your pocket".
"Janice runs the ports, y’all..."
Yeah, then she's responsible for the worsening port air pollution, which, by the way, is spreading beyond the harbor area. The "No Net Increase" was a load of crap.
Mayor Sam said:
Rohde is a big deal local lawyer, former ACLU head. Good guy for ZD and crew to get to go against the city.
When you get your settlement ZD don't forget your old friend Mayor Sam.
omg I just saw Eli Broad on PBS 1 , they asked him if he would get involved in editorial if he owned the LA Times, he says " ummm, maybe...in critical areas like...." [wait for it] "EDUCATION REFORM"
education reform???? what???? they then asked him if he had any journalistic experience, he says NO.
2 great reasons why he should stay out of editorials.
Matt Dowd is a complete moron and idiot!!!! Everyone knows Bratton is the best chief in the nation and its been stated by a lot of powerful people. Look at Bratton's record and Bitter Bernie...YOu know nothing about gang violence Matt. Because our politicians never gave the money to hire more officers we have less on the streets. OF course gang violence is going to go up cause they know there's not enough cops. The homeless issue is the CITY'S REPONSIBILITY NOT JUST DOWNTOWN. You're in a minority Matt cause this Chief has a lot of support throughout the city. Knowing your mentality you would want Sheriff John to come to LA. You proved Zuma to be more intelligent then yourself. Maybe Bratton's person shoved Zuma but he still supports the Chief because he knows his record and doesn't whine like you do. You act like a girl.
"Fundamentally" on the right track. Jackass- my focus group says that comes off sounding like a pollitically correct way of saying "currently failing."
WOW! The guy can't help but spew bad PR. He was trying to give a compliment, but he can't even lie well, like the rest of the politicians.
Will someone pass a ordinance to make Jackass Weiss stop talking about the City in public. He bismirtches 4 million people everytime he opens his stupid, uneducated, CONSTANTLY WRONG TRAP! But I think, "fundamentally" Jackass is a great guy. You fundamentally flawed human being.
Why don't you pass some laws, Dave? matt can enforce them and you guys can keep hitting on the bong.
Get real; the Mayor and the Council run the city and you two are like pimples on an elephant's ass.
Ex-Mayors, current Mayor, councilmembers have taken contributions from interesting groups such as Playboy, Larry Flynt...
Zine has always been my favorite CM too.
Zine and Hahn are the two biggest backstabbers on the Council, self- righteous jerks who want to take down the Mayor cuz so they can get even for her bro Hahn losing to him, and because they're the two on Council who, to put it politely, have faces that most belong on the radio. So they either grandstand re: their righteousness, or failed initiatives like helping the poor immigrants who staff the LAX area hotels w/ you've got that right, her grandstanding bills to try to steal AV'S thunder, and some of his Latino constituency. Good luck, Janice... you and your family can count yourself honorary blacks, and that is the only good inheritance you'll be able to trade on, though with the Af-Am members on the Council, their support belongs to Parks and Wesson and Perry. You can get your ugly mug into their photoops, but you'll never win the city with your failed tax-heavy agenda.
