Sister City victim of pranksters
It was bound to happen eventually.
Some genius somewhere thought it would be a good idea to hack the blog and delete Zuma Dogg, and his comments.
A few things that this particular depraved individual should remember:
1) Hacking a blog is, in fact, a Federal crime. So sleep tight.
2) While I don't agree with everything Zuma says, or the way he says it, We all at the Sister City will defend his right to say it. If you don't like what someone is posting, try just ignoring them. Personal attacks do nothing to advance any real debate.
We have received recent emails complaining about Zuma, he has come under attack on the blog and now this. I feel compelled to ask; If he is such a "non-issue", why are you trying so hard to shut him up?
OK, enough drama for one night. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming already in progress.

Hey dumbass Zuma Mutt... PERHAPS YOU SHOULDN'T BE BRAGGING ABOUT EXACTLY WHERE YOU USE THE CITYS' FREE INTERNET SERVICE.
How hard do you think it is to "hack" a public connection that is RUN by City Hall?

A few tech notes, if I may.
1) Everyone who contributes to this blog should change his Blogger password IMMEDIATELY.
2) If you are using Blogger from a public wireless network - Starbucks, etc. - NEVER announce this on the site. Wireless networks are inherently insecure and your passwords can be sniffed by anyone else on the network (similar to wiretapping a telephone).
3) If you use public wireless networks on a regular basis, I suggest using a VPN service like HotSpotVPN to encrypt your traffic.
4) Do not use easy-to-guess passwords.
5) Do not use the same password for all of your various email and website accounts.
Stay safe out there.

ZD has been yapping for days about where he was blogging from and has pissed off enough people. The only suprise is that it didn't happen sooner.
'Bout time someone shut him up, even if it was for just a few hours.

AW, Passwords changed although mine changes avery few weeks anyway. Rotating passwords is another good technique.

Smart man, Mr. Alger. Make them complicated and change them often.

I agreed with ZD that this was an inside job. How many people have access to your dashboard as moderator? And who? I am someone who has brought in a polygrapher, upon occasion to quickly get to the bottom of a situation like this.
Mayor Sam, I will be glad to pick up the tab if you wish to challenge each moderator to a test.
I will send you an e-mail to your AOL account with my contact info. And if there are multiple moderators, let me know if they are willing to take the test.
Whoever fails, if someone does fail, gets deleted from your blog, never to be heard from again.
Who is willing to take that test?

"POLLONISTAS" in their usual role as bullies. ZUMA must be causing some consternation among you guys.
But Zuma, be more "LOW PRO" when using public wireless

That's about the dumbest thing I ever heard. Noone but the Mutt really cares (assuming he didn't do it) and it isn't like this blog is the daily Kos. Thanks to ZD it has 10 people who post. It also has a few anonymous bloggers that I am certain some people would love to "out" and Sam should never turn over their names.
Doubtfull that any "insider" would do this. There is no real gain.

It seems the do-nothing elected officials that are operating under "business as usual" guidelines don't want individuals like Zuma around. Hey Zuma, take this as a compliment. Kudos from a fan.
Mayor Sam said:
Give me a fucking break. I don't have time for lie detectors nor any need.
We got hacked, Blogger knows about it, and we're doing things about it.
Quite frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't happened before.
Now lets get back to some real news.

Sam, he is an issue, but note that no one seems to post regading his content, only his length, stupidity, appearance, etc.
You're right, it adds noting to the discussion, but then again, neither does he.
He is what we used to call an "Attention Hog" or "Attention Whore", trying to suck up all the oxygen in the room.
What it is is just a big waste of time to scroll past his long, nonsensical posts.
Try it a week or two without him and see how the level rises.

If Sam says the blog was hacked, I am going to assume he knows what he's talking about (unlike the Mutt).
Now Sam, please for the love of god get rid of this mutt!

I agree with 9:19 - (both of them)

Zuma Dogg is going nowhere. He's brought a lot to the blog including press attention and eyeballs, let alone a wealth of information I would not get otherwise.
I can't pay Zuma in cash for the work he does so I don't care if he spends a little time promoting his projects. Its the least I can do for him.
We get far more positive comments, email, etc. supporting Zuma than we get you 2-3 cranks posting anonymously to get rid of him.
So just give it up okay? If you don't like him, don't read his posts.

Zuma's posts can't all be gems. Most of the time I wonder where all the energy comes from to get the text together for each posting. Even more work is called for when several items are presented each day, at that.
On balance, I think it is easy to criticize and mock him, but the information and opinions presented do get us to do some thinking about what's going on in city politics.
However annoyed some posters may be at ZD's postings, I am sure that the elected and appointed people who generously spend tax dollars- while shaping our government at their various levels- have to be much more than "annoyed" when their actions are publicly presented and examined.
The posters who level criticism at the messengers instead of the message tend to be the ones who really should take some responsibility for bringing down the quality of the blog.
ZD has to have made many politicians uncomfortable with things he's said about their actions. It's about time for the city council to be held accountable for what they do. Most are bought off in the form of campaign contributions.
Developers have their influence reflected in decisions made. "Quid pro quo." They and other special interests expect that response and get it from "our" representatives.
It is truly astounding how much credit these men and women grab for their unbridled spending of taxpayers' funds. Yet, to hear them talk about it, you'd think the money came out of their very own pockets. Yeah, don't I wish. Better decisions would be made, I suspect, if that was the case.
What's with all the waivers so shamelessly given to entities that have no real need for breaks? Could they end those waivers and put the savings towards GOOD uses, like priorities, i.e., more police officers? By the time we hear of most of those, it's already too late and they are a "done deal."
Right now, Zuma seems to be the only one willing to challenge these people publicly. I hope he continues to do so. Politicians are probably thankful there are not more people doing that.

Zuma Dogg,
Why would Alger deleat your posts? Please post his e-mail.
Anonymous said:
I deleted two of his posts and told him I did so (which is how he knew). As a policy, Mayor Sam doesn't allow unprovable defamatory allegations to be posted. (I also deleted 5 or so AGAINST Zuma but notice no mention of that)
In Zuma's need for attention he decided today would be the day to blame me for all of his troubles on the blog.
Sad sad man that needs to be the center of attention so bad he lobs charges he has absolutly no way of backing up at all against people just to get the pot stirred up.
You really have to feel kind of sorry for him.

It's ok Jim. nobody cares much about him except him.
