Republican Bitch Slap
One great thing about Republicans taking over LA Voice from the Eastside White Guy - coverage of the local GOP scene. We have spoken before about the train wreck that is the leadership of the Los Angeles County Republican Party of Doug and Linda Boyd. Looks like some justice has finally been meted out.This past weekend at the state party convention, delegates approved a measure that prevents County Central Committee members from taking money from non-Republican candidates. This is in direct response to Doug Boyd taking $30,000 from James Hahn during the 2005 Los Angeles Mayoral election when he should have been working to elect the only Republican in the race, Walter Moore.
Now in the interest of full disclosure, this old, dead Republican mayor did not support Walter for Mayor at the time opting instead for DINO Bob Hertzberg. However, unlike Dougie, I didn't have to be paid north of 30Gs to do that. I was wrong. I've come to know Walter as a friend and advisor. I'm even sorry I penned the name "Wacko Walter." But this is not a mea cupla for Mayor Sam. I'm just glad to see the Boyds got bitch slapped.

By "DINO" do you mean Hertzberg is not a leftie? Isn't he on the board of MALDEF? Or to be considered on the far left these days do you have to be an active member of a Maoist guerilla organization?
He is indeed on the board of MALDEF -- at least, he was at the time of the election.
jkfyeubWalter - you need to give a big hoody ho to your ex oficios of 45 and 54 AD's. Better yet, you need to call them up and thank them. They were the ones who stood up in front of the entire party and told it like it was with names and numbers. Your name even came up in connection with all of this. That took a lot of guts to do that, and while they will probably become totally shunned by RPLAC for doing this at least we can say that there are two honest Republicans in Los Angeles who can't be bullied.
Huggy is cozy with LaRaza cause hefty Gloria Molina gave him his start. His wife is also a fine looking latina. That issue aside he's a Riordan Demorcrat on business issues. Not a biggie on the Jackie Goldberg meat and extra helping of potato socialist issues.

Me, when I saw how utterly corrupt it was, I left. I don't think there's any hope for the Republican Party in California. It stands for nothing. The people running it care nothing about the public good, and everything about their own personal profit.
I urge every Republican to re-register as an independent -- a "decline to state" -- and to make zero donations to the Republican Party.

Agreed. It's just a cash machine and who knows where the money goes.
Linda and Doug are just using politics to pay their bills.
