Another City Clowncil?

Its not the LA City Clowncil but San Fernando City Council members running for re-election - Steve Veres and Julie Ruelas - did the best waffling this side of the House of Pancakes. Rather than vote for a townhouse project that would actually improve the blighted northern end of the city - which exceeded every single requirement provided in the specific plan - they opted to send the whole thing back to city staff in order to push it off beyond the March 6th election. Insiders are asking if Mayor Nury Martinez (recently allegedly fired by Senator turned Assemblyman turned LA City Council candidate Richard Alarcon) was really hospitalized with strep throat as reported or did she not want to be forced to cast a deciding vote that might "tarnish her record as the do-nothing Mayor?"

Following the vote, activists were reported as voicing threats of throwing all three incumbents out of office.

Local watchers anticipate the City of San Fernando could be sued yet again or the developer could now come in with a much denser apartment complex and bypass the City Council altogether.

The problem with this project is that it is under parked by at least 150 spaces.

To make it worse, there are $500,000 condos, where the parking would be tandem. Can you imagine a household with 4 cars shifting around in the two tandem spots?

When you don't build with enough parking for residents, they will use the commercial spots. So, where will the patrons who want to use the bank go?

There is another complex up the street that is also under parked. Five stores are never leased, because customers can't park.

The project has too many holes and it needs to be fixed, as doing it wrong could hurt all redevelopment for years to come.

How did Martinez get fired by Alarcon? Last I heard, she was working for Padilla's Senate office....

Sorry, SS, you're thinking of a downtown project. This is an entirely residential project of only 38 townhomes on Maclay. You're thinking of a project that came up probably a month or two ago on Celis and Brand.

Yeah, a loser like the rest of the Montanez crowd who have nothing else to do but hang around downtown San Fernando. A good reason why folks should get an education and move on.

Nury and her husband have no loyalty. They used to be close allies to Montanez and her clan, then she sides with Padilla against her in the senate race, after she shit talked him for years before, telling every one what a loser he was and how she and her husband hated Padilla and Fuentes. And where are they now kising thier ass. LOYALTY Bitch, is what you need. She has pissed many former allies and would be allies in recent years.

It won't be hard to kick her ass in her re-election attempt.

Ruelas is another lose cannon in san fernando. She is nothing more that a padilla puppet.

San Fernando needs more honest candidates with balls to run for office. There was one in the last election, just can't think of his name right now.... But he should have run this time again...
