City Council Votes To Give DIck Clark And ABC/Disney A $20,000 Charitable Donation

Los Angeles City Council, you shady bunch of muther*******. You just ripped $20,000 out of the hands of the non-profit, community based groups for whom this money was earmarked for, and gave it to Dick Clark and the Mayor's pal ABC/Disney.

How many times has ZD had to remind you what Jack Weiss had to say about the rampant abuse of the Special Event Fee Waiver. And although I'm happy to say many, if not most, of the commercialized and corporatized special events have been too scarred to show up on the agenda since ZD and Matt Dowd's constant pummeling of these improper "waivers", you just pulled off the biggest bamboozlement, to date. First of all, y'all...copy and paste this memo and email it to your Councilmember, because they OBVIOUSLY need to re-read it and have Zuma Dogg and Matt Dowd mention it a whole lot more on City TV 35 and move it back into the Public Comment.

Jan. 15, 2002 (2-0-0-2, y'all!!!)

Los Angeles: Councilmember Jack Weiss, TODAY, called for a comprehensive review of the City's policy on reducng or "waiving" special event costs in an effort to address budget concerns and the possible inappropriate "waivers" of fees and costs for events that may NOT need or deserve financial support from the City.

"I am very concerned about the budget and the implications of waiving significant costs for groups that may not be entitled to these waivers. In particular, whenever the City "waives" (that's "waves") a fee, it in effect makes a DONATION to the sponsoring group. This support from the City should ONLY be given when the event is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC -- and -- SERVES AS A COMMUNITY PURPOSE." - Jack Weiss (01/15/02)

Weiss has asked for an analysis of the total cost of special events in the City, including lost revenue and expenses for police and emergency services, and for a review of other Cities' waiver policies.

ZD says: So thanks a lot Los Angeles City Council for making a $20,000 donation to Dick Clark's American Music Awards on ABC/Disney. (Mickey has his grips on City Hall, for some reason.) First of all, Dick Clark has more money than Eli Broad and Richard Riordan combined, and the American Music Awards is a HUGE payday for Dick Clark and ABC/Disney. So why do the taxpayers of Los Angeles have to pay for this private, commercial event that ISN'T open to the public. ZD wants his free f*cking ticket, y'all!!! More on this tomorrow on City TV 35 at 10am, 7:30pm & 12 mid.

PS: I DEMANDED that ZD see some "No" votes on this one, and people were watching at home and Props (that's "props", not "prop.") to Jack Weiss, who stood-up and broke away from the shady pack of wolves and gave Zuma the "no" vote he was looking for. The rest of you can kiss my ass.

Zuma Dogg ask Parks why has his Budget Finance committee been sitting on the CLA report from 2003 that outlines and has strong recommendations on how special event waivers should be used? Ask those idiots why do they move on motions for events AFTER THE FACT?
Go after them Zuma...when is the stupid media going to do a story on all these payoffs?
