Stepping off the lunar landing module Eagle, Armstrong became the first human to walk on the surface of the moon.Closer to home, the Here In Van Nuys Blog asks why Van Nuys Blvd. "Isn't Prime Real Estate?" Blogger Andrew notes that actor Brad Pitt is in New Orleans leading efforts to revitalize that city, he wonders why Hollywood celebrities couldn't do the same close to home?

From the Los Angeles WAVE "Soulvine" - LUDLOW Legal Defense Fund
HELP WANTED — LaDoris McClaney is hosting a reception at her Holmby Hills estate in support of the Martin Ludlow Legal Defense Fund on July 21 beginning at 6 p.m. The event, organized by a stellar committee of federal, state and city elected officials, community, religious, business, civil rights and labor leaders, and actor Danny Glover, will raise funds to help Martin pay the heavy fines and legal fees incurred as the result of what they did to him earlier this year. Everybody will be there — with their wallets open.

Mayor Jim Hahn banned PR contracts with city agencies...A week later, the L.A. Business Journal clarified that the ban didn't apply to firms that did "community outreach."....this week's City Council calendar, where the Community Redevelopment Agency has requested the OK to use $500,000 in city money to hire selected outside firms for "community relations and outreach services." On the list of approved vendors are some familiar names that did work for the DWP — Lee Andrews Groups and Consensus Planning — or firms such as Greer/Dailey/Minter that are viewed around City Hall as politically connected.
LUDLOW SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF HIMSELF. IT JUST GOES TO SHOW THE PEOPLE WHO ATTEND HAVE NO MORALS OR SCRUPLES. LUDLOW NEVER SHOWED REMORSE ADN SHOULD BE SITTING IN JAIL.
Armstrong meant to say, "one small step for a man," but he muffed it. He then asked for a "do over," but that was a negatory, good buddy.
He had considered saying something about Charlie Brown, but opted for profundity.

Five hundred grand for "community outreach?!" What the heck is that? Heck, you can have a guy go door-to-door with flyers for $15 bucks an hour!
What a total loser.....instead of having a fund raiser to award money to find the killers in South LA of all the innocent kids they do this instead. Mack was upped yesterday for another year on police commission. He is as corrupt and racist as all the rest. Thanks Antonio
...The invitation to Ludlow’s legal-defense fund-raiser offers a different version of events, praising Ludlow for responding courageously to “tremendous legal and professional challenges” while neglecting to mention two felony-conspiracy convictions, the misdemeanor convictions and nearly $187,000 worth of fines — most of which will now be paid off by lobbyists, consultants and, of course, City Hall employee unions.
What WHO did to Ludlow? He did it to himself and us citizens. I hate to say it but NIGGAS are always looking to blame others. I don't know about you but if my CM attends this event, he can kiss my vote goodbye. I'ma have to work on acquiring a guest list, or a list of who's sponsoring this other than Ms. McClaney.
Re community outreach. What's amazing is that Lee Andrews and Consensus Planning were big FH subcontractors on the DWP contract! All the crap gets hung on two guys and the rest continue to work for the city. Sugerman, who works for Playa, testified that Josh Gertler, who runs Consensus, wrote up DWP bills. Something's wrong here.

Thanks 10:52. I see my CM Herb Wesson is attending. He just lost my support, and the support of all my friends in the community. We all were disgraced by Ludlow. Herb Wesson always says "I won't let you down". Well Councilman, you've let us down by participating in this sham of a defense fund.
I expected the others to be involved. It's a list of the usual suspects. Karen Bass, John Mack, Maria Elena, Bishop Blake (his father in law), Rev. Lawson, Earl Cooper, etc. They all drank Martin's Kool Aid (the red kind ya'll).
I still don't see how folks think Martin was courageous. Sure he was courageous enough to think he can get away with stealing money. Antonio's name is not on the list, but my sources say he'll be there. He does not want to get mixed up with Martin before his run for Governor.
Where do I send my check?
I hope main stream media reports who goes and gets a photo of Antonio there. Ludlow is a convicted FELON. But no one rewards corruption like the blacks. THey use every excuse in the book, race, poverty, white people anything to stay in denial. The invitation commends this corrupt politican. ONly blacks will do that. Any Latino who gets convicted you would see everyone get away as fast as possible from them.
