Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Thursday

The California Charter Schools Association is spinning the situation at the LaAcademia charter school - almost as if Principal Marcos Aguilar wrote their press release themselves. The Charter Schools Association accuses local news outlets of lying, when they're tossing out the same spin as the Principal. This suprises me too, as there are numerous charter schools in LA that do good work, have been quite succesful and I can't believe they want to be lumped in with La Academia.

A group of elementary school students from various private schools testified today before the City Council in opposing city investment in firms that do business in or with the Sudan, which is currently seeing a horrific genocide. This old, dead Republican mayor was quite impressed by the students' presentation, as well, that the students were well dressed and well mannered. This was opposed to a leadership class from a public school where the kids were dressed in t-shirts and jeans. Not the kind of apparel young people should wear to a City Council meeting.

Joe Mailander tells us that Martini Republic has launched a new category amongst the many flavors at their blog, "LA+U" which is short for "Los Angeles Plus Urbanism." Mailander says "My feeling is that the LA general interest blogosphere is already overcrowded, especially with promotional stuff, and that readers are as much interested in urban outcomes as much as they are in many of the politicians who shape them!"

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa will receive the Spirit of Los Angeles Presidential Award at the L.A. Host Chapter Party and Design Awards Gala for the American Institute of Architects 2006 National Convention and Design Expo.

Over the weekend, this old, dead Republican mayor will parse this week's election results.

Praise the lord, Alger the retard will hopefully stay off the blog from here on out.

Of course Huggy Bear's sidekick thinks that the all-white private elementary school kids are impressive, showing their 'compassion' for the people of Sudan. And those inner-city public school kids, what were their parents thinking, not buying them fancy clothes for their big Council presentation? They looked soooo bad, they're an embarrassment.

OR, maybe it's the truth? Cops will tell you, when the stories stay the same over time, it more of an indication there's truth there, than if they keep changing

Meanwhile, KABC's "details" of their reporter being jumped have been all over the map since last week (all this on-air):

-- he had an appt. for an interview; he didn't have an appointment

-- he only had audio equipment (how could be taken for a "pervert" snapping pictures of little kids?); but just today he suddenly admits for the first time that he did have a digital camera and was taking pictures "of the building" just moments before the incident

-- he was in front of the school; he was across the street

-- the audio tape stolen was blank; he had taped something from the school intercom that was "incriminating" (yet he's never once offered a word on what that message was...)

-- he was leaving the school; he was hanging around hoping to catch the principal coming in

And so on...

Police have pressed no charges even though the parent came forward and accepted INDIVIDUAL responsibility for his action, LAUSD says the charter school is doing what it's charter says -- case closed, and now the state Charter Schools Association has stood by the school.

NO L.A. authorities ever even called for further inquiry (not EVEN those running for election for other offices this year). What does THAT tell you?

These are all the people the school is accountable to... NOT KABC-TV and Disney!

Meanwhile, on a busy street at rush hour, mid-week NO one has backed up the dramtic account of this 3rd-string reporter from a 2nd-rated talk radio station that's been able to milk this for airtime and increased exposure for a full week.

Who's spinning what??

Has anybody checked for "Sandy Wells" on the 'Megan's Law' list?

The Downtown Los Angeles NEighborhood Council now has a timeline , I think.

DONE has been putting obstacles in our way.

Something new at the Downtown Los Angeles Neighborhood Council elections in September. 2 months later than when we were supposed to have had them .

Anyway , in our elections your stakeholdership will not be challenged if only voting.

But you must verify your stakholdership if running.

Personally , I do think it is fair , since Downtown Los Angeles is the biggest whore as a neighborhood , since everyone in Los Angeles and SOuthern California for that matter can be a stakholder somehow.

Sandy Wells may not come up on Megan's list, but people who look like him and people who behave like the he was that day sure do come up. Again Mayor sam, if it's white, it is right! WHy have no charges been filed if this reporter ws truly assualted? I'm sure KABC wouldn't put up with that.

Excellent post 3:16, come on Mayor Sam, where's your response? Or should I say, your spin.

WRONG, 8:35 a.m. READ the introductory comments before you lash back!

These are ALL things the station's on-air personalities have broadcast about the incident at various times since last week -- many of which contradict each other. Their story has changed daily.

The "criminal" who took the recorder from KABC's reporter turned himself into Hollenbeck division that same morning, was interviewed, and was released - without charges.

Sandy Wells continues to "adjust" his story about why he was at Academia. Last week listeners repeatedly heard that Aguilar "repeatedly refused" an interview (so he MUST have something to hide, right?).

Now facing increased criticism from even neutral parties for going to the school uninvited and unannounced, after being told "no thank you" repeatedly -- Wells offers that he "thought" that during their last phone conversation Aguilar might be "starting to mull over" the possibility of going on KABC, so Wells went to the school "in case" he had changed his mind.

Wells certainly isn't a pedophile, but any women thinking about dating him should be forewarned. . . Saying "NO, NO, No" repeatedly to him, means you're "mulling it over" and "may still change your mind," if pressured more (up close and personal, or if stalked enough).

Remember, Mayor Sam-nistas... this is the SAME radio station and host that gave Walter Moore MORE free airtime than all other "real" candidates combined during the last mayor's race.

What does THAT tell you??

I bet Sandy Wells thought he was just being a good reporter looking for that big scoop. Afterall, he's white, he has to be right.

I say we brand Sandy Wells with what he really turned out to be, a papparrazi! He's lucky he didn;t get shot.

If KABC is SOOOOOOO damned interested in the state of L.A. schools (or school?), especially on the East side, and whether their "tax" money is being spent correctly to educate Latino children, then how many of the candidates (to fill Huizar's school board seat there) did they interview?

Anybody -- anybody -- anybody?

News reporters are routinely killed in Mexico whenever they threaten to reveal the ugly truth to the public. If a reporter can’t be bought off or slimed with implausible slander or libel like Sandy Wells of WKABC, or the reporter is too persistent, the standard public relations practice is to kill the reporter.

Marcos Aguilar’s interview on Larry Elder radio program was worthy of Jim Jones of the People Temple in Guyana in the disingenuous, tortured, denial of the attack of Sandy Wells, and insinuation that the reporter may have been accidently mistaken for a child molestor or maybe it was merely a rumor.

It’s oxymoronic to believe Aguilar’s absurd conjecture that reporter with a radio station microphone and LAPD press ID, and camera would be mistaken for a child molester or some other intruder unless someone associated with the school informed the perpetrator of his presence.

Marcos Aguilar took down his school’s website not protect the children but to prevent adults from reading his thinly veiled Maoist Marxist agenda from the scrutiny of public. His flawed academic agenda is the cause for his school’s abysmal 597 out 1000 score in a standard test that three public schools within a half mile radius score twenty to twenty five percent better.

Sandy Wells has had a very consistent version of the events and has elaborated on the context of his presence at the school and prior dialog he had with school officials prior to arriving on campus. The mendacity of Marcos Aguilar and his defenders is clear for all to see.

Mr. Aguilar did was not the least bit apologetic to the reporter or KABC or to reporter to Sandy Wells contrary to the consistent tissues of lies originating from the Aguilar’s lips, the schools website or in propaganda pieces supporting Aguilar’s absurd version of events from the California Charter Schools Association and the LA Daily News.

The mainstream press such as the LA Times have not confirmed the self serving rumors that driver that assaulted reporter Sandy Wells has turned himself in to the police.

Its time for Mr. Aguilar and his supporters to pass out the purple Kool Aid and hand over his students to competent teachers who can educate students properly and make them successful and productive members of the US economy regardless of citzenship.

You seem very vested in this issue.
Are you a parent, a teacher, or some how related to the school?

If you are not, then I wonder why you seem to be so alienated?

Pls explain yourself?

That's a lot of text for what you really want to say - if it is white, it is right!

Just one question, have you been to Hollenbeck Police Station, the mainstream press reported that a police report was taken. If so, why no arrests? The "assailant" was a parent - he's at the school everyday, I'm sure Sandy can identify him - being the top notch reporter that he is.

Your premise holds no water.
