Another local paper apologizing for La Academia Semillas Del Pueblo and their abysmal efforts at educating children who can least afford nonsense when it comes to their education. Writing in the Highland Park News and Eagle Rock Post, Risa Peris paints Marcos Aguilar as some kind of academic genius. Amazingly, she too downplays the significance of the legendary "Brown vs. Board of Education" decision, making the point that Academia proves seperate can be equal (or perhaps better?). I fear Thurgood Marshall must be turning over in his grave.If you thought the City of LA was corrupt, check out the story of the tiny LA County City of Vernon in Sunday's LA Times. Its the tale of a family dynasty that runs a city with a population less than 100, most of whom are city workers who live in city owned homes at highly subsidized rents. Things were fine for the rulers of Vernon, that is until some folks looking to reform the city moved into town and ran for Council.

That's okay, Justice Marshall didn't look that comfortable before he died. . .
It is just possible, maybe, perhaps, that FORCED separation of the races (up until 50-60 years ago), ordered by the dominant culture, and VOLUNTARY separation, three generations later are not EXACTLY the same thing.

It was Mayor Sam who said the HP/Eagle Rock newspaper was supportive of Academia Semillas.
Comes on the heels of the Northeast and Eastside Sun also saying similar things.
I'm guessing the "90032" newspaper (published out of El Sereno by one of Huizar's staff members) will either stay quiet for political purposes, or support the school that was chartered when his boss was school board president.
But then, ALL the local press MUST be wrong, if "Borg" McIntyre says from his perch in West L.A. that the school is "racist."
(These "little brown people" on the East side just DON'T know what's good for them, so the rest of the city will have to learn them gooder, right?).
Aguilar's explanation of the special needs kids dragging down the test score averages sounds just like what someone posted here last week.
Maybe only people that study base 20 can understand how the averaging of test scores works, and how one year snapshots are useless.

AND he is the publisher of that rag of a newspaper? How can someone who works for a politican get away with what Alvin is doing?
I guess you doubters will have to hitch your hopes to that throwaway newspaper published by the angry white guy in Eagle Rock, to show that the community and CD14 leaders don't support the school (although Eagle Rock is a LONG way away from El Sereno, might as well be San Pedro), and Tom Topping doesn't like to go so controversial that he loses ads.

You said in the opening post, "...Academia Semillas Del Pueblo and their abysmal efforts at educating children..." -- but judging from all your past posts you must have meant abysmal RESULTS ("efforts" used in that context would mean the school isn't even TRYING to educate; your points all along have suggested you believe they're not SUCCEEDING).
That's okay. I believe you did say earlier you attended "regular" LAUSD schools, (back when they were the pride of the nation -- acording to KABC's McIntyre), and were taught ONLY in English.
So, your confusion and inability to use English to express your actual meaning is understandable.
It takes someone who "rolls up their sleeves" to really screw things up.

In the news this afternoon Antonio is getting yelled at by angry parents who oppose his LAUSD takeover plan. There's no plan though cause that's what all the legislatures have been waiting for.
It was funny seeing the South LA Farmers at Friday's council meeting yelling at everyone and calling out Antonio. One stated "you came for us in your bus to take us to Boyle Heights to clean your streets, but didn't help us with the farm." How many times have we told people Antonio was always getting people from outside the district to help in his own backyard.
How ironic. Mayor Sam, do you know the precedent used in Brown v. Board of Education. It was Hernandez vs. Santa Ana Unified. Look up the history yourself. This landmark Black segregation case was based on a landmark Chicano segregation case. And now you attempt to spill your propaganda against this "Chicano" school. Isn't this a ctch 22? You can't have it both ways. No matter how much you attempt to hide it, your bigotry still shines through. Do a little research please.
