Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Friday

Doug McIntyre reports that Academia Semillas del Pueblo has a new website (with substantially different content than before) and a PR firm now, but you can still look at the old website here. I have a question. Are they actually teaching the religion of the Aztecs as part of the curriculum? Let's have the ACLU and Zev Yarovslasky investigate that.

Controller Laura Chick has found a half a billion dollars due the City. Chick's new "Vendor Services Unit" has found countless examples of vendors overcharging the city or not delivering goods and services paid for. (Update: Make it "half a million dollars." This old, dead Republican mayor should not be blogging when he is sleep deprived from early morning radio interviews. Still, good chunk of chump change, lets hope the City can find more.)

Councilman John gets a hat tip from Martini Republic on his Neighborhood Councils story.

Mayor Villaraigosa and Magic Johnson are slated to be at the grand opening of a Starbucks on Crenshaw. On the agenda for the speeches is talk about bringing more jobs to South Central LA.

Some residents are concerned, but developer J.H. Snyder unveils plans for a massive makeover of Laurel and Valley Plazas in North Hollywood. Good move I say, as one who grew up hanging out at the two malls (anyone remember Safari Pets and the Ice Capadaes Chalet?) back in the 70s and 80s. The place has become a miserable dump (and Laurel Plaza save for Robinsons-May was destroyed by the 94 quake) and the new plans sound awesome. One note to Daily News scribe Beth Barrett, The Grove shopping center is not downtown, but in the Fairfax District.

As Councilman John reported, Assemblyman Lloyd Levine's Chief of Staff, Stuart Waldman, has announced his campaign for the State Assembly in 2008. Stuart has debuted his new website at www.stuartwaldman.com.

City of LA Meetings for Friday

8:30AM - LAFD: Board of Fire Commissioners - Special Meeting
9:30AM - BPW: Board of Public Works
9:30AM - CAD: CAC Meeting
10:00AM - COUNCIL: Los Angeles City Council

McIntyre (or Mayor Sam), or both -- consistent in being incorrect, or just incredibly out of touch and lost in time.

The "new" school Website you link to here has been up pretty much since a day or so after they took the "old" one down to protect 8-year-olds from being stalked and threatened by McIntyre-inflamed wackos. They've been been adding items along the way, as new support and information develops.

If that's "new", then this blog has a "new" item up showing Mayor Sam's endorsements for last week's June primary, here:

http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=8826939&postID=114952987464124502

The timing's about the same.

"New", sheesh!

For a blog owner who admitted on the air a few days ago to censoring stuff about politicians' kids last year, you sure don't seem to give a rat's ass about other people's kids being protected from hate radio-inspired freaks and nut-jobs (the consistently stated reason the school site was changed).

What, only YOUR favorite candidates' kids are worth protecting?

When did the indictments go out on the school from chief justice "Borg" McIntyre at All Assimilation Radio.

Who decide who gets "screwtinized" - washed up comedy writers at third rate talk radio stations?

If you present information, press, radio, blog, otherwise as information that you presume to be correct, and you're DEAD wrong, then you get to be scrutinized.

You don't like being scrutinized - don't put it out there.

One of the GREAT benefits you always hear about blogs is that there's an opportunity for feedback, review and criticism and correction by readers -- without all the arrogant trappings and self-preserving censorship that major media protects its own reputation with.

Me, I'm just horribly allergic to intellectual dishonesty.

Similar excuses for perceived censorship, about a year a part, and the guy practising it in the first instance points his finger at the second and says "you're lying" (about your reasons, even though you're using the same reasons I did last year). Sorry, but that's hypocrisy with a capital HYP.

In this case, though, it's worse. No one was making threatening phone calls to the private schools where AV kid's were last year.

Now if a friend called me no one would know unless I wanted people to know so this is all a set up and people are falling for it. IT also shows that Fabian is pulling AV's strings. The other mayors of the cities who are against the school takeover should get a hold of their reps.

Thank you, Laura Chick. Seriously.
One of the most common ways for people to steal money from a corporation or government is for the people running the show is through payments to vendors.

Sometimes they pay inflated prices; sometimes they simply stage sham transactions, where no good or service is ever provided. The vendor then kicks back part of the money to the bad guy, or is owned by the bad guy, or is owned by friends / family.

So if she's already found $500,000 during the Villaraigosa administration, well, expect there to be more -- much more.

Interesting they don't blame the students for not beind educated enough to attend UCLA.

.....at UCLA today: Leaders of the NAACP, Los Angeles Urban League, Brotherhood Crusade, Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Los Angeles and Community Call to Action Accountability gathered on campus to protest the low rate of African American enrollment for the fall. Says they: "The low levels of acceptance and enrollment of African Americans at UCLA are the consequence of institutional racism practiced by both the UC Board of Regents and UCLA, a lack of commitment by UCLA to equal opportunity and access, and the misguided utilization of Proposition 209, which has become an excuse for systemic extinction of a minority population on the UCLA campus."

IDIOTS!!!! They always want to blame someone and not take responsibilty themselves.

One day you say "Mecha" people don't represent the bulk of Latinos, they're just handful of leftist radicals.

Next day you say the op-ed by a Mecha-dude means "lack of support (in that) ethnic group."

Make up your bipolar mind. Does Mecha "represent" most Latinos point of view, or not?

Cheap shot; weak argument.

One need look no farthur than the printed and videotaped anti-American, racist, hate speech of these two separatist racists.

I am on a committee that is putting together a montage of AV's own traitorous comments. It will follow him wherever he goes and will serve as the lynchpin to dethrone him. We we also be getting around to all the other racist Mechistas....Aguilar, Bustamante, Cedillo, Nunez, etc.

There is so much stuff out there, that we will be editing forever just to hit home with the highlights. Nothing like a candidate's own words to finish him off!

You have a serious problem in hand, in that the percentage of people who would ever find these things "traitorous" is shrinking fast, and those that would easily AGREE with your "traitors" is growing quickly.

Better hurry with your little research project, before "rampant democracy" (e.g., majority rules), bursts your corroding bubble further.

OR, you could move to Idaho.

You'd like it there. They still call Latinos "Messicans".

That would give you another decade or so to live in denial.

Check your fresh produce at the stateline, and research some alternate uses for "potato(e)s" on the Internet while you're at it.

If you're teaching ESL, I think we may have stumbled onto some aspects of the problem here.

Bone up on the need for "articles" in most sentence (a, an, the, etc.) before the next class, and maybe look into how subjects (like "I") and verbs (like "loves") need to be in agreement.

I'm glad you loves America, though.

Nobody knows exactly how many illegals are in the U.S. or where they came from. They can only guess. But there are large parts of L.A. that look, smell, and sound like some other part of this planet.

We don't know because the schools don't ask, the hospitals don't ask, the cops don't ask, and LA City Gov't doesn't ask. But there were about 500,000 marching on City Hall Latinos and a mayor that told them there were NO ILLEGALS. So I guess there are zero illegals.

And your State Legislature is adding millions to the proposed budget that would pay for illegal's health care. Thank you Fabian Nunez and the Democratic Party.

Your Republican Governor is also supporting the inclusion of funds for health insurance for children. That's right - it's not any undocumented person - it's for all children in California. The Democrats (and Arnold) believe that the state of California should make sure that children are taken care of.

I, for one, don't believe it's correct to put chidlren's lives and livelihood in danger because of choices their parents made.

In adddition, if the children don't have insurance and primary care, the state will have to spend a lot more for emergency care. After all, those without insurance have to use the emergency room for their health care. And this is by far the most expensive form of treatment.

Adequte coverage of children that include regular checkups will go a long way to treat asthma, help prevent diabetes and obesity and ensure proper nutrition and health habits as they grow older. Especially if the treatment is done in a linguistically and culturally sensitive manner.

Making sure our kids are healthy means they'll spend more time in school, less time in the emergency room. And that's a win - win situation all around.

I'm very lucky that I grew up with parents whose jobs covered our family with health insurance. I was able to take care of strep or the flu when I had it. And I've only once been to an emergency room in my life.

I only wish that all kids could grow up with such access to care and health education.

To Doug McIntyre:

I hope you will connect the dots next week! Here's my analysis of the Mecha school debacle:

The Charter was approved in 2001 by Jose Huizar (school superindent at the time). The school is located in Huizar's and Villaraigosa's old District;

Villaraigosa, Huizar, and Aguilar are card-carrying Mechistas;

The school is an anti-American, Mecha school;

Aguilar's defamatory, inflamatory statements are on record and reflect the sentiments of Villaraigosa;

The school property is owned by LA Raza Development Corp. La Raza Development Corp has a $185,000 loan against the property.

There are some reports stating is that Aguilar is making $90,000/yr'

It is also reported that LAUSD has funding the school $7,000,000....that comes out to $40,000/per student;

Villaraigosa has publicly stated on national tv that 'OUR KIDS ARE LEARNING MANDARIN AND NAHTUAHL"...I personally heard his remarks;

And last, but not least, we don't try to run down and kill innocent radio reporters in this country. It's done all the time in Mexico...but it's a "no-no" in the USA!

Goon squads are a "no-no" in this country.

And that goes for the college campus MECHA members who threaten and beat up students and faculty members. And destroy 5000 newspapers; and take over faculty lounges like Villaraigosa and Aguillar have done at UCLA>

Villaraigosa will be brought down at last. The sleeping giant is awake at last.
