Sleeping Policemen
Those damn speed bumps that elected officials love to give to screaming homeowners are often referred to as sleeping policemen.But in Compton, sleeping policemen are not speed bumps. They are school district policemen, asleep, on the job, even at the wheel.
The LA Times reports that testimony and photos presented in a current racial discrimination lawsuit against the Compton Unified School District paint a picture of officers on patrol, well, dozing.
Maybe the City Council could follow suit. If we allowed them to nap in the horseshoe, they might stop passing some of the really bad legislation they foist on us.

City of Los Angeles Public Works and Street Services sleep on work shift.

Lunch hour or not, Police officers should not be sleeping in uniform, in their cars.
Did he pass out? Does he have a medical condition? Why judge the dude?
Turns out he was dead.
Dude, check the LA Times, there are pictures of several other cops dozing.
I have picture of Villaraigos dozing on the job.
Will LA TIMES publish it?
He's not sleeping, he's visualizing the crime scene.
Make sure you all get it right. These aren't "police officers." They are SCHOOL POLICE, big difference. The news is reporting they were taken by an ex-Latino school police officer who is suing stating that black school officers get better treatment,.
I've done my time with "a large municipal police department in Los Angeles" and have worked alongside School Police. Sorry guy...there's no difference. There are exceptional cops and slugs in every agency.
sleeping on the job ?? "what cop" hasn't??!! even the mighty LAPD officers have ,from times past- stopped and snoozed on slow and boring nites- its not right,and down right UNDAFE( not to mention the fact that a patrol car isn't available if a citizen needs it). as for compton USD PD? people who are poorly led ( think sorry assed former compton city PD chief hourie Taylor- yeah,which is WHY compton is now "policed by LASD") and look at the fact that Compton USD PD makes about $15K/yr to 25K/yr LESS than their counterparts at local PDs !(pay starts at $40K to $53K/yr)-most officers are working TWO jobs or extra overtime to make a base cops salary!
BTW comtpon USD is closed at nite, and considering how violent compton is ,i'd rather the officer found someplace SAFE and hid or slept at nite,then be found ALONE on some dark playground and surrounded by those savages that pretend to be "human" than dwell in compton........
