I'm glad that the conversation is now involving the full city. Afterall.. we all understand why someone might not like in in their own back yard but this conversation asks, "why is Sunshine bad for all of LA?"
I love the conversion goals of the smith plan. It's kind of like fuel efficiency: the technology is out there, let's get off our collective asses and use it.
Mayor Sam's Sister City is dying a slow death. Too bad.

mayor sam site will play a major rule in many of the primary races coming up in June. This site is very much a factor. Where else can people get the scoop?

Smith is full of shit. RENEW LA is total BS.
Smith and Englander are going to scream and yell about how bad Sunshine is and put on a great show. In the end the City will voe to extend the contract again because "it's the only choice".. AGAIN.
Meanwhile back at Smith HQ they will quietly accept BFI's money for a job well done.
His platform before was Sunshine.
he screams in defense of the community which puts the good quotes in the paper but then rigs it so that BFI keeps Sunshine open.

Kind of has a ring to it huh?
Smith is running for re-election in '07 and then wants to run for the Assembly in '10, which is why he has a hard on for Alger.
But in '10 the 38th gets re-districted and then it may not be so right wing anyway.
Can someone out there name all of the players in the BFI and Sunshine Canyon contract issue?
I can't very well have a take on what they're going to do if I don't know who they are.
Does Antonio have the votes for it? Does Smith have the votes against it?
