Mayor Sam After Dark

If Mailander can blog into the night, I guess I can share a few things while I have rousted myself from a deep sleep.

Spent the evening with my special lady and a birthday dinner on the Westside. No, I didn't smell it either. It could be, as Mayor Frank said, whoever dealt it, smelt it. Nonetheless, when you think the shit you're full of doesn't stink, then what does it matter? Perhaps calling another blogger full of shit is a bit over the top, so lets say instead, "often wrong." I mean the reports of the demise were not only a bit exaggerated, but quite frankly, off the mark. I mean figures don't lie.

(FYI, Week 39 isn't done yet, so don't think we took a dive, its on track to repeat last week.)

Of course, what if your not really a blogger after all? That presents a completely new proposition for Sherry Bebitch Jeffe - does that leave her with knowing NO bloggers? So are we obsessed? Yes, but not with shit, stenches, rockets, the LA Times or even dear old Sherry (not Shirely, Mailander) herself. We just get off on all the extra traffic we get. (Yes the blog that's not a blog is second only to Google in directing folks our way!)

But getting back to the odor. Indeed, there's a strong one in the San Fernando Valley tonight, and no, its not a stench nor shit, but the Southern California phenomenon of the wild fire. It that's smoky smell so familiar to those of us who grew up around campfires, but on steroids and for all the wrong reasons. The smoke is thick and strong here in the Valley, not really noticeable in Santa Monica this evening, but when within a mile or so of the 405, that burning brush smell starts to take hold.

So aside from the fire, what is the stench? Is it really spreading to other liberal suburbopolises? Or is it more akin to the Taos Hum, that only certain folks can sense? It may be time to put Art Bell on the case.

Let me also take this opportunity that some folks have taken to piling on my blogging partner. This young man is extraordinarily bright and insightful. He has a great sense of humor and a keen political eye. I also know him to be a decent human being quite dedicated to his family and friends. Its my pleasure to work with him and he is the main reason for the success of this blog. I just shoot my mouth off, he gets the real deals.

In other news, my party has shown how its wrong on the issue of gays as well as illegal immigration. Arnold took the safe route and vetoed equal rights to a significant segment of the population, while the House GOP apparently passed over local Congressman David Dreier not because of his weak stance on illegal immigration but because of his alleged homosexuality. Mayor Sam likes girls, but he is in solidarity with his pink brothers and sisters to live their lives as they do, with the same rights as everyone else. That's pretty Republican to me, but what do I know!

Before we call it a night - Jim Alger - you owe us another installment! Where's your article?

Good night,
Mayor Sam

Mayor SAm, were you told not to respond to certain bloggers by Villaraigosa?

Were you told to stay away from some "known to you" anons exposed only to you and the other mayor?

I heard you were told to stay away from certain individuals, tell us it ain't so.

Drier was not pased over because of the rumored homosexuality.

Roy Blunt has been the Majority Whip, and the Leader in waiting for a long time.

The Chief Deputy Whip, Eric Cantor of Va. (the sole member of the house Republican Jewish Caucus) is in line behind him.

That has been the elected leadership in the Majority; Drier was making a play to jump over both Blunt and Cantor. It didn't gel.

It had little or nothing to do with his sexual preferences; he is still the Chair of the powerful Rules Committee, a position accorded to him by the caucus. If there was bias, he wouldn't have such a power position.

The "outing" (of the dead mayors, not that Drier guy), was not the beginning of the end of this blog -- it was the EXTREME loss of credibility that preceded it when one particular partisan hack-blogger was allowed (nay, encouraged?) to post that he/it had PROOF that Antonio Villaraigosa was not a do-nothing City Councilmember, i.e. he started 80 FAKE NEIGHBOROOD WATCH ORGANIZATIONS. Said hack-blogger/political operative then broke SEVERAL stated and dated promises to provide that proof to this blogs audience as well as that of another blog, citing ridiculous "secrecy" needs for groups that -- if they existed -- would normally be publicizing their meetings broadly.

"NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH UPDATE.

Right now I have found over 84 neighborhood watches, i need to know how many were in the district before Tony Villar became a Councilmember. I am finding most of the Neighborhood watches by calling Hollenbeck and Northeast pretending to live in different neighborhoods, it's working. I don't want to call the Villaraistas mainly because i think they will feed me biased info." (Chief Faker - April 15, 2005)

"To help them (the Hahnwatch blog) -- I plan on releasing my Neighborhood Watch report on their blog -- it's a one time guest spot. So don't get used to it!" (Chief Faker - April 26, 2005)

"And my Neighborhood Watch investigation has reached over 100 neighborhood watches..." (Chief Faker - April 29, 2005)

It's one thing to DRINK the kool-aid of local politicians - it's quite another to help them mix up a new, stronger batch of the brew and try feeding it to the masses with an online IV. The blog owners here are complicit, and they've never renounced the lies told by that hack/operative -- lies so silly and preposterous as to be laughable and mathematically impossible.

People are still driving by and gawking at the car wreck - because the remains of the crash of credibility are still on the side the road.

That doesn't mean they'll still keep making special trips to see it again and again.

Decline is guaranteed. . .

What if there were no neighborhood watches and nobody cared?

What if the 80 watches never existed and nobeody cared?

The election is over and Antonio is the Mayor.

Get over it; and take your 80 watches back to CD 14 and try walking precincts and see if anyone cares there.

What a dumb post Mayor Sam! Why are you wasting so much space on nonsense? This is the reason you have lost so much traffic. I remember the days when you oosted 3 stories and got at least 70 responses on each one. Go back to the old days.

1) Chief Parker is no longer with us.

2) Thanks Joe. There is something about writing when you're half awake.

3) Dumbshit 7:34 - look at the freaking graphic - traffic is up. We average 5500 unique visitors a week. Prior to the Janice Hahn story and the outing, we got 1500-2000 a week. We're a month out from the outing and traffic has stayed consistent and is growing.

I can't renounce Chief Faker's 80 neighborhood watches cause I don't hang out in CD14. I can't even tell you how many neighborhood watches there are in my community.

If you can show me an official list of watches in CD14, and its less than 80, I'll say the Chief was a liar. Similarly, if the Chief can show a list, I'll say he's telling the truth.

Honestly, I don't care. I got shit to do today. Aren't there any issues in CD14 that have nothing to do with Chief Faker and/or AV?

Mayor Sam, the west side white guy is taking the day off to plug his new vanity press book.

http://www.laobserved.com/archive/2005/09/gone_missing.html

His first book was published by the LA Times, but this one by some local outfit.

he shouldn't have hammered the LA Times so much with his blog they would publish more of his books.

So it's "the ends justify. . ."

Who cares if the candidate lies, AS LONG AS HE WINS.

Can I then consider that your endorsement for George Bush and his WMD hit parade, as well (or is lying ONLY permissable for liberal democrats)?

Thanks, Mayor Sam (at 8:59 a.m.), that settles it for me.

"Similarly, if the Chief can show a list, I'll say he's telling the truth."

SO, since Chief Faker DIDN'T when he said repeatedly he WOULD, he IS a big bad liar about the 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCHES and since he was just backing up the then-raining CM of CD14, so is Antonio Villaraigosa, and his staff, and his campaign hacks. . . all LIARS!

I respect your assessment there, Mayor Sam (but it was Mayor Frank who actually backed up Faker's story originally, here)!

P.S. And HERE is where it comes into play, and isn't just OLD news. . . as the people of Los Angeles begin to see all the NEW lies coming from Villaraigosa over the next four years (*OK, really just until he challenges ARNOLD), day after day, weak-by-week, then the OLD lies will become more important -- they show "history" -- they show a track record -- they show he LIED to get the job, and KEEPS lying to keep it (*ibid).

POW!

Mayor Sam you can post what ever numbers you want. The fact of the matter is look at how many people have blogged in the last week? You may say you're getting people viewing the site but you surely aren't getting the same amount of people bloggins here like they use to.

If anyone here is friends with the Mayor A. Villaraigosa, tell him to read the following;

"Tengo amigos que están cerca del diablo y otros que están cerca de Dios... nunca voy a negar mi amistad a nadie"

"Las Mentiras tienen las patas cortas"
