Council Calendar for Tuesday

When the City Council returns from the long Labor Day weekend tomorrow, they have an agenda chock full of business to resolve. In addition to a long list of street lighting districts and weed abatement assessments to consider, two items will probably get the most attention:
  1. Considering an increase in taxi cab rates.
  2. Confirming the appointment by Mayor Villaraigosa of airport expansion foe Valeria Velasco to the Airport Commission.
  3. Several other appointments are also on the agenda, but none are expected to generate the controversy that Velasco's will.
So - what do you kids on the Fourth Floor have to offer on any of these (or other) issues? Its back to work Tuesday!

Another week goes by (110+ now since the begiining of the Villaraigosa reign of error in CD14), with 100s of items on the city council agenda, and nothing more substantive pending for the 14th district than the occasional street closure or assesment adjustment.

Even before AV became mayor, the only items specific to CD14 were waiving fees for fiestas (AV photo ops), or other (campaign) ceremonial functions.

Nothing related to crime, schools, land use, historic preservation, transportation, or any other quality of life issues -- all of the "issues" AV ran on 2 years ago, "to make a difference" and that Huizar, his annointed heir is now running on with xeroxed 2003 AV flyers.

What a waste of four years.

1:42am anon don't forget all the transfers of funds AV is moving from CD 14. He's transferring $550,000 from the Captial Expenditure Fund to the El Sereno Constituent Center.

Let's see who has the guts to VOTE NO on Valerie and go against Antonio.

Very funny...no republican chapter in east los angeles, the thugs the previous clown is posting about hazard are all democrats supporting Villaraigosa, until just recently with gang injunctions, he might have to watch his back.
