In the News: MEAV, Ludlow, and Westly
It appears that my counterparts, the two dead mayors and one chief of police, must have been at happy hour just a few hours too long last night. Just incase those drunkards don’t sober up soon, here is an update on the news.
Of course, the big news is yesterday’s announcement from the MEAV transition team naming the following people
- Chief of staff will be Robin Kramer
- Deputy chiefs of staff will be Marcus Allen, and Jimmy Blackman
- Serving as a senior adviser will be Carolyn Webb de Macias
- Deputy mayor of community and economic development will be Robert "Bud'' Ovrom.
Does anybody have any guesses as to who will fill some of the other top spots?
In other city hall news, yesterday the city council gave initial approval to hold a Nov. 8 election to fill seats being vacated by MEAV and Councilman Martin Ludlow. According to City News Service, the proposal to combine the council races with the statewide special election will go before the council again next week, since 12 votes were required, but only 11 members were present for Friday’s vote. If the council decides to hold the city election in November, a run-off, if needed, would be held in late January.
Finally, State Controller Steve Westly will be in Arcadia this afternoon to announce his candidacy for Governor of California. Every candidate has a catchy slogan. Westly’s is “big thinking.” Doesn’t that sound similar to someone else’s?
Well, I am off for a facial and a game of “Uno” with some of my other dead lady friends.

You see, Betts, all of these fags are not really interested in what you are doing.
Look for another blog where most of the guys are straight. These guys are more interested in which guy is doing some other guy.

Are any of Villaraigosas CD14 staffers getting elite posts at city hall?
Jimmy Blackman, ok.
How about the others?

I think Antonio will most definitely find places for most of his staffers. Especially anybody who has been with him for a significant amount of time. I'm not sure how elite the job may be, but I think he'll take most of them.
I suppose this would be a good time to clean house if you were so inclined also..
