County Seal Cross Connected To A Little Marital Booty Call?
This is 9th Circuit Federal Judge Stephen Reinhardt. He was appointed to the Federal bench by former President Jimmy Carter and is responsible for trying to remove "under God" from the salute to our flag. In fact, one group is trying to impeach him, though that probably won't go anywhere.Had the LA County Dupes (AKA Board of Supervisors) not knuckled under to the threats of an ACLU lawsuit and removed the small mission cross from the LA County Seal, its possible that Steve himself could have heard this case. He's known for being real friendly to most of the leftist causes of the ACLU.
This is Ramona Ripston, Executive Director of the ACLU. We detailed her last antics to prevent public safety efforts in the City of LA here. Ramona has been known for years as the institgator of all kinds of liberal antics by the ACLU, and the left loves her.Ramona is married to Stephen Reinhardt.

No, I don't get the picture, Sam. I disagree with Reinhardt on many, many things, but the fact that his wife runs the local ACLU in and of itself means nothing. If you know of cases where Reinhardt ruled in which the ACLU was either the litigant or represented someone, then that would be a story. But I'll bet he recused himself.
How about we make a deal? I'll agree that Reinhardt is violating ethics if you agree that Clarence Thomas is--after all, HIS wife works for the Heritage Foundation. And Thomas is known to be "very friendly" to right-wing causes popular at Heritage.

The ACLU is a screwed up organization that has undermined American values. Bring back the days when Jews were forced to say Christian prayers or face social ostricism. Why can't police have the discretion to beat down likely criminals, particularly those black and brown ones? Why can't we polling officials ask only hispanics for identification to make sure they're not illegals? And these little sexual freaks in high school wanting to express they're "identity" has got to stop.
This crap about protecting people's rights and free speech has gone too far - especially when they we're talking about women, minorities and gays.

Ripson is the third lucky winner of the Reinhardt marital adventures.
His first wife Mary had a sister that was married to an important Congressman and Steve finageled that into an appointment as Democratic National Committeeman.
The second lucky winner was Maureen Kindel. 'Nuff said.
Both threw his sneaky, liberal ass out the door and he ended up with lucky Ramona. Some luck.

He is the most political member of the 9th Ciruit Court of Appeals, and often times has tried to dabble in politics after being on the bench.
Unbeloved Mark Fabiani (one of the self named "Masters of Disaster")was one of his clerks, and Steve got him installed in Bradley's office while Bradley was being mumified in his last years, so Steve could pull strings from behind the scenes.
He is a dangerous force for knee jerk liberalism. As one blogger pointed out, a few years ago the Supreme Court finally issued an order to the 9th Ciruit to stop the serial stays on death penalty cases cleverly arranged by Reinhardt behind the scenes, but also cleverly, he recused himself, as he does on all cases involving the ACLU because of the obvious conflict of interest.
He should be impeached. The man is a discredit to the robe he wears and his frustration about not getting to the Supreme Court during the Clinton administration has led to even more bizarre activity on his part, including participating in childish games in his opinion writing with his Conservative counterpart, Alex Kozinski.
The only thing that saves Kozinski is that he at least gets the conclusions right.
Anybody want to know more? I know all about this stuff, since I've been dead, it has been easier to follow...

I think it is a contraction of child molester and sex offender; he looks like both to me, too.
