Three Day Weekend
Pending no indictments being dropped this afternoon, I'm looking forward to a calm three day weekend. Blogging will be lite, unless Yorty manages to make it back from his tour of the mid-west and needs to vent his pent up rants on us.
In the mean time, let me suggest a little reading material for the weekend. It seems all to appropriate!

Heard Cedillo came out and endorsed Hahn today. Anyone know if this is true?

Here you go Meat...Also on Friday, Hahn's re-election bid was endorsed by Rep. Grace Napolitano, D-Santa Fe Springs, Sen. Gil Cedillo, D-Los Angeles, and Assemblyman Rudy Bermudez, D-Norwalk. Well, Well, the Latinos are coming out for Jimmy. Bet you thought Cedillo wld endorse your boss. Not in a lifetime. He knows better.

Wow, Cedillo endorsed against his high school buddy, Antonio. Gloria Molina won't be endorsing Antonio this time around either.
No Cedillo, No Molina. Look's like Antonio is going to have to rely on his westside money and westside support to get him elected.
Cedillo who took a romantic South American trip with Hahn's deputy chief of staff endorsed her boss? is that a ringing endorsement?

It's getting just as much coverage as the idictment is -- amazing.
Cedillo endorsing his girlfriends boss -- maybe. Cedillo paying back Richard Polanco for his support getting him the State Senate seat in the first place - most likely.
blog away -- also recall that Hahn had the endorsements of padilla, Polanco, Cardenas, Pacheco and others -- they were able to galvanize the latino community like never before last time right? I am sure with heavyweights like bermudez we can expect more of the same. Nothing.

FAT. Where are my lists? 1) You promised a list of the 70 odd neighborhood watches set up by Villaraigosa. 2) You promised a list of bar owners supporting the recall. You haven't delivered on either. And, now, as an acknowledged Villaraigosa supporter and campaign volunteer you bring into the debate sleazy innuendo about Gilbert Cedillo's private life. I hope Antonio has the decency to apologize for his supporters sleaze.
The reality is that sometimes in politics, people's private lives play a role in their political decisions. First off, Cedillo is dating on of Hahn's main staff members. Cedillo has been seen visiting her at City Hall. If I'm correct, this is the same person who wrote a rather unflattering article in La Opinion about Antonio "considering" a run against Gil Cedillo for State Senate the Saturday before joining Hahn's staff. So here she comes, writing an article against the person who almost defeated her new boss and who could be the biggest political nightmare for her boyfriend, they are still dating, and Cedillo's endorsement comes to you as if it's something that has nothing to do with what he does under the sheets? And of course, this is coming from "One Bill Gil", who got played more by the last 2 Governors than a high school virgin with his driver's license bill.
If you think that this isn't true, just go ahead and ask Cedillo himself.
Yeah, I can see why you say all that about Cedillo. I'm sure that most insiders know that he has a residency in South Pasadena (or at least he did when his wife was alive). It's been a long time, but I think it's in Jack Scott's district. I hope that he doesn't still have a residency there, because that means he wouldn't have lived in the 46th Assembly District and his current State Senate District.
I think it's outrageous to refer to Gilbert Cedillo's endorsement of Hahn as being connected to "...what he does under the sheets." Clearly you are a Villaraigosa supporter and I hope Antonio has it in him to apologize for this sleaze.
Sorry if the connection between Cedillo's endorsement to Hahn resembles that of Hahn's connection to the DWP scandal. If you really feel bad about it, then you need to stop worrying about politics and go plant some sunflowers in the garden. It doesn't matter what any elected does at any moment - there's always a connection to their political actions and Cedillo's endorsement is not the exception to the rule, but rather an example of it.
Obvious Antonio's supporters are not happy that another Latino who has support on his own endorsed Hahn have to take it to sleazy place where Antonio is use to being on his own. Its irrelevant what happens behind closed doors. Clinton showed us that. Meat sounds really bitter. He knows the Latinos are coming out in support of Hahn like I said and not his lying boss. Antonio USED his own people lying. Word is Antonio is threatening people in CD14 telling them that if they're part of the recall or if they don't vote for him he will hurt them with their funding. Watch out TAntonio....the tape recorders are now running and some people have it documented. We all know your sleazy scare tactics but we ahead of the game.

Who cares how many Latinos endorse Antonio? Are we still in the place where we have to line up by race? It means nothing. There are lots of Jews who support AV - does that insult Hertzberg? No. There are Latinos who support Hertzberg and whites (e.g. Mike Antonovich) who support Bernie. So what? Actually its a good thing when you think about it. Race is less important.
On another note and speaking of Bitter Bernie looks like his campaign is crapping out. Will he drop out before March? Apparently Bobbi is driving everyone nuts. Bernie should drop out and toss his support to Hertzberg.

Mayor Sam you are indirectly supporting child abuse by linking to boy from troy...he has a blog where he makes claims of hooking up with a 16 year old. you should remove this link immediately.
He is also a gay Republican which causes concerns.
Thanks to 3rd Floor Guy for his comments on race in the election. Although one can make an argument about the relation of endorsements to candidates based on the ethnicity of the candidate and/or endorsees, we need to look beyond that and recognize the strength that we have been able to develop within our ethnic communities to not have to weigh that much weight to it. Whether it be people like Speaker Fabian Nunez, Assemblymember Karen Bass, Councilmember Ludlow, or even School Board President Huizar - we've all grown in this political environment thanks to the exposure and interactions within diverse circles. But if you want to start counting how many Latinos are here, and how many are there, and how many are at home eating tacos while waiting for the run-off to make a choice, then go right ahead. Just remember that with a city like Los Angeles, the tortilla needs to stop somewhere.
What the hell is wrong with Gay republicans? There are many in City Hall.

I'm glad the Valley debate told them all not to attack eachother. Pretty sad when grown ups have to say that. Hertzberg is keeping a low profile now cause he's in deep shit because of Fleishman. Antonio is giving himself a birthday party and asking for campaign donations. Is that legal? Ethics Commission say it's ok.
Unless the challengers make something stick at the public debates, Hahn will get re-elected. Villaragosa has a shot in the runoff if he makes it.
