HOT Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles (and Beyond) Political Machine for Monday

Los Angeles Dodgers Icon (and former National Football League Announcer) Vin Scully gracefully waded into the Controversy over NFL National Anthem Protests during a Pasadena Speaking Engagement ............, and declares that he will NEVER watch another NFL Game, due to the disrespect of our Men and Women in Uniform.
Video of Vin Scully's news-making response to question regarding NFL National Anthem Protests
** Blogger's Notes: For the 59 years that Los Angeles was blessed to have Vin Scully as the VOICE of the Dodgers, RARE was their a moment when the Baseball Hall of Fame Announcer (inducted in 1982), would engage in espousing a viewpoint on a contentious issue, especially political.

Indeed, most longtime Dodgers Fans would have never known that in the early 1960s, Scully was approached by the husband of former City Councilwoman Roz Wyman about running for California Governor as a Democrat, but respectfully declined. On Saturday at "An Evening With Vin Scully" event at the Pasadena Civic Center, Scully made National News regarding his opinionated response (for once) to a question regarding the NFL National Anthem Player Protests (for the record, Scully was once an NFL announcer for CBS) ........., which should not help the cause of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodall in securing a contract renewal.
Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) Board of Trustees Member Andra Hoffman
** LACCD Trustee Andra Hoffman may want to heed the words of California Democratic Chairperson Eric Bauman ........., directed at DOCUMENTED Sexual Harasser and her supporter Assemblyman Raul Bocanegra, before engaging in political grandstanding regarding issues of Bullying and Sexual Harassment within LACCD. Trustee Hoffman should understand the need to avoid inserting politics into CONFIDENTIAL, Workplace Personnel Issues ......., but according to the Daily News, that is EXACTLY what she is apparently engage in.

“I think the time is right for us to make sure every employee and student in this district is protected against harassment of any kind and against bullying,” Hoffman said. “In recent months, I have been told of two situations that are of particular concern. One involved a charge of sexual harassment at one of our campuses and that the person making the charge was first offered a bribe to drop the charge and later was threatened if she didn’t drop the charge. The other involved what appears on the surface to be a false accusation of sexual harassment that may be intend to influence a hiring decision. I will deal with each of these specific issues separately and through other channels to make sure they are thoroughly investigated and properly dealt with.”

In the words of Forrest Gump, "Stupid Says, Stupid Does" ........., especially for self-serving, political motivations.

** Memo to KFI 640 AM Program Director Robin Bertolucci, your supposed Political Consultant/Contributor John Thomas has apparently learned some BAD campaign tactics via his colleagues at the California Alliance Group. From the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) on October 19, 2017.
