Morning Briefs on the Los Angeles Political Machine for Thursday

Nuch in high-fiving mood after Los Angeles County Labor Federation Endorsement.
** The Carmen Trutanich for District Attorney Team received an endorsement that no one can question as the LA County Labor Federation bestowed its endorsement on the San Pedro native. Whether this endorsement garners Team Nuch monetary resources in the weeks to come is not known, but rest assure that the county fed actions may scare off any other potential candidates.
** If there was a political rising star to come out of the boondoggle that was the City of Los Angeles Redistricting Committee, that would be Attorney Helen Kim. LA Weekly Scribe Hillel Aron profiles this rising star of Los Angeles politics, who stood up to the likes of Mayor Antonio Villar and City Council President Herb "Mini Amin" Wesson backroom dealings.
** "The tumor made me do it". Now its up to former DONE Board of Directors Head Albert Abrams to convince a jury of his peers that a tumor was the genesis of his fondness for child porn.
.......... and lastly.
R.I. P. Andrew Breitbart
1968-2012
From Matt Drudge at the Drudge Report:
DEAR READER: In the first decade of the DRUDGEREPORT Andrew Breitbart was a constant source of energy, passion and commitment. We shared a love of headlines, a love of the news, an excitement about what's happening. I don't think there was a single day during that time when we did not flash each other or laugh with each other, or challenge each other. I still see him in my mind's eye in Venice Beach, the sunny day I met him. He was in his mid 20's. It was all there. He had a wonderful, loving family and we all feel great sadness for them today... MDRUDGE

Your thoughts and prayers to the Breitbart Family in this time of great loss.

So one of LA's largest organized labor groups held their hands up for Carmen 'the Clown' Trutanich to be their bought and paid for DA. Yep, that will get the man who has the well earned reputation for being a bully and a thug a nice bunch of union cash for his repellant campaign to grasp more power. He's exactly the kind of DA they want; a Jimmy Hoffa goodfella character who understands that threats, locking people up, and trying cases in the court of public opinion is the best way to become a union made man. Now that the people who will go to the polls on June 5, 2012 to pick a new DA know who the Teamsters want as DA, that should make the choice easy - anyone but Trutanich.

There are plenty of far worthier candidates for DA than someone who broke his word to voters. If you're a republican there's Alan Jackson who (unlike Trutanich) has actually prosecuted significant cases like the Phil Spector murder trial. Trutanich hasn't prosecuted a case in 26 years since he left the DA's Office after a short career.

If you're a democrat, there's Jackie Lacey or Mario Trujillo (no, not Mike 'the Meat' Trujillo) both of whom, like Jackson, have dedicated their professional lives to making LA a safer place for all of us, rather than making a personal fortune as a slip and fall lawyer.

If you are a Teamster, Jackson, Lacey and Trujillo would be your worst enemy, so yeah, AFL-CIO supports Trutanich. Big freakin surprise there.

Does David Berger seem bitter or what? Makes sense. Nobody wants anything to do with this guy. Even Cooley shuns him these days.

I wonder if his boss Jackie Lacey approves him getting paid with our County taxpayer dollars while he shills for her and spends all his time on his numerous blogs and twitter accounts?
