One can surmise from the photos that the crush of photographers added a tenth or two to the magnitude which only broaden the Chiclets smile of Mayor Villar. But in the City of Berkeley, a real 3.9 earthquake hit at about 2:40 P.M.---Scott Johnson

THEY PICKED TARGET FOR THIS SHACKOUT. TARGET BUILDINGS ARE SOME OF THE MOST UNSAFE IN THE VALLEY. THEY ARE ALL BUILT ON TOP OF THE PARKING STRUCTURE JUST LIKE THE APARTMENTS IN THE 94' QUAKE THAT COLLAPSED KILLING MANY OF THE RESIDENTS INSIDE. PEOPLE CAN LAUGH ONLY I'M RIGHT WILL IT TAKE PEOPLE TO LOOSE THEIR LIVES TO PROVE IT. I'M GLAD THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT THIS BUT FOUND IT ODD THAT A COMPANY THAT BUILDS SUCH STRUCTURES IN A EARTHQUKE FAULT ZONE WOULD PUT IT ON MAY BE THEY REALIZE THEY WILL NEED THE HELP ONE DAY. WE ALL MUST PRESS BUILDING AND SAFETY TO SUPPORT EARTHQUAKE RESIST STRUCTURES. THE PARKING STRUCTURE AT CSUN WAS SUPPOSE TO STAND A 8 RICHTER IT FELL IN A 6 RICHTER QUAKE ON MK HOLIDAY. HOW LUCKY NO ONE WAS THERE.
