Where do the likes of HACLA Executive Director Rudy Montiel and Commissioner Maria Del Angel learn the art of wasting public money?
These sort of political expenditures, whoop, behavior must become part of the your ethical DNA when appointed to a commission by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa or supporters. Mayor Villar takes free ticket to numerous events worth $50,000+. CD 14 Councilman Jose Huizar and staff stuff $4,812 plus change down their respective pie holes in three months. And now Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles Commissioner spent six figures on five-star lodging, dining (with booze) with per diem money in their respective pockets.

** We should note that HACLA Commissioner Alicia Maldonado is the same Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce President Alicia Maldonado. This fact is interesting considering that the BHCC is hosting a CD 14 Candidate Forum on March 1, 2011, between 8-9:30PM, at the Boyle Heights Senior Center.

Given the nonsense taking place in that department, we wouldn't be surprised to see that $ number go much higher.
Reed Spit, funny how in the same week that you're in contortions over a possible misuse of a few thousand dollars by someone who's really only one of hundreds endorsing Huizar, you've TOTALLY IGNORED the fact that MonteBELLo (run for several years by PACHECO SUPPORTER Robert Urteaga -- assisted later by RUDY MARTINEZ SUPPORTER, Nick Pacheco himself, in an interim $15K per month paid position), is being investigated now for having MILLIONS of dollars go missing on Urteaga and "Tricky Nicky's" watch - just a few years ago.
Several BIG STORIES in the Times about it. The "timing" of all that money just up and DISAPPEARING is incredibly hard to ignore (unless you're a rabid Huizar-hater/Pacheco toadie).
Includes CRA money misused, one account gutted of a million bucks, duplicate books being kept (a la ENRON), etc.
MILLIONS of DOLLARS, not thousands. MILLIONS missing in what this blog once called "CD14-East", aka Montebello.
Why was it again that PACHECO SUPPORTER Urteaga was recalled?
He LIED about a POLICE RECORD (hmmmm, sounds familiar). And then why was RUDY MARTINEZ SUPORRTER Pacheco "bounced" out of his interim position (which BY THE WAY, paid more than an L.A. City CM makes).
And who is it that BLEW THE WHISTLE on all this... the person who replaced PACHECO SUPPORTER Urtega, AFTER his recall? (All that time, and NEITHER one ever noticed MILLIONS missing?)
Guess "Tricky Nicky" will be spending a LOT of time at the DA's office, soon... first for the Martinez MONEY LAUNDERING, and then... "tell us, Nick, what you know about the MILLIONS missing in MonteBELLo, that you just NEVER noticed" despite being the ACTING CITY ADMINISTRATOR - the TOP staffmember for ALL those months, thanks for Urteaga's cronyism.

Why is there ALWAYS "smoke" around Nick Pacheco, and yet the Red Spots of the world always seem to insist there's NEVER any "fire" there?

I realize providing facts won't affect your belief system any, since it probably isn't based on anything factual -- but what the hell... it's Friday:

FACT: The mayor of the City of L.A. is only allowed to appoint 1 of the 5 sitting Ethics Commission members.
Tony V. last appointed one in June 2008; Paul Turner - currently the commission VP.
(And, unlike some other city departments where the mayor's appointed GM basically "runs" the commission like a sad puppet show, Villar has no say in the hiring of the Executive Director of the Ethics Commission).
I know who I would call if I ever needed a lawyer --- Pacheco.
He sure knows how to stay out of trouble with the DA's office and especially out of jail.

Not for Nick Pacheco. You can tell he's REALLY OCD about being a "player" again, somewhere - always lurking in the background, trying to resurrect some "good" memory of himself.

Did Maria Del Angel resign, or is she about to resign. Today, Jose Huizar told me he thought she resigned. So was he wrong, or has it not been announced, yet?
Why do Huizar campaign billboards say, "ELECT Jose Huizar." Shouldn't they say, "RE-elect Jose Huizar." An argument could be made this is an ethics violation in an attempt to hide the fact that he is the councilmember responsible for the problems. If it says, "Elect" must not have been Jose who caused the mess. He's running for his first term. Deceptive.

Urtiaga came to Mtbll. Big corruption started with the fed closure of the Garfield Bank. Banco Popular inhert some of those accounts, Union Bank too. Those accounts that say they just found is a made up story. Bank regulations are to send out government reporting to the legal address of the account at least annual activity. and it would be address to the comptroller of the
city of Montebello. Go to the comptroller or accounting dept.
So if you going to post something, make sure you have the story correct. simply check when those accounts where established, what6 a joke
Lets get down to the needy greety of the CD14: Huizar now is promising to do what should have been done five years ago. Why is it that Huizar never has community Meetings in Boyle Heights, because he cannot face the community. When he attends small nw meeting, he comes late, give his so call speech, and he is gone like if he was wanted by the police. He has all his kiss ass i BHNC, YET HE NEVER show up, his staff sometimes and they sear at a far back corner being very quiet. Huizar continues to approve new liquor licenses, not justy for restaurasnts but for all his friends, family friends, whether restaurants or others. Yes there is miollion of the
cLARTS funds that are missing and no one can figure out were they ended up, who's hands did it benefit? CRA money is Huizar's
trust. The CLARTS fund is to buy supporters and Non-profits.
Rudy Maetinez is a self made millioner, he represent the American dream, "Yes we can" the ideals of Cesar Chavez. Rudy believes that everyone deserves a chance to built their dream.
and with hard work, rolling up his sleeves, whether is manual labor or office work he done it all and and has proven to be very successful. He wants to help those people that want the
same. He is concern that the back bone of America, Small busineses are being ignored and not allow to grow. Boyle Heights can only move forward with Rudy Martinez. Huizar's complaint about

spanish. Well what the use of speeking Spanish if Huizar does not have meetings with the hispanic or English speaker in the commjunity, what is the point?

What a joke, the Sierra
club of Los angeles endorsing Huizar for his contribution to open space, have they seen what he has done to our Hollenbeck Park?
He continues to cement our parks little by little. Enviroment, did the Sierra really look into Jose's Record on open space? Not a very good job. He spend 1.2 million on staff salaries intead of using it to improve the quality of life.
setting up 4th of July fireworks at a community park dedtroying the little tranquillity that we have in BH, and disturbing the while birds nesting in the park????? so Sierra club supports this.
Huizar's list of community leaders that support him? They are all listed as community leaders or members of the RESSURECTTION CHURCH. If this people are really community leaders, why is it they are not affiliated with an organisation?
