Posting light over the holiday but here are a few nuggets for you to chew on.
Phil Jennerjahn drops out of the race for CD 4 and predicts a Tom LeBong victory.
Before Mayor Sam came to LA there was not this level of political coverage as seen in a Weekly story on Rudy Martinez's race for CD14. We've even made Mike Trujillo famous. You're welcome.
Here are some opportunities for you to help your fellow man and make Thanksgiving a little bit nicer for those down on their luck. It's also a great opportunity to see your favorite local elected get their picture taken.
Not realizing there are hungry people in their own city or a massive AIDS scourge in Africa, time on their hands NIMBYs in Encino are lamenting the free market has transformed an ailing Barnes and Noble into a CVS Drug Store. In the future people will not read but they will need stimulants. Just watch Idiocracy.
It's not exactly the death of high culture but Disney is giving up making animated fairy tales after its latest Rapunzel based feature Tangled is released this holiday season. Again, the march to Idiocracy continues.

While I am saddened to see Phil leave the CD4 race, it is critical that the others stay in the race if only for the purpose of showing Mr. LaBonge that stale leadership is bad leadership. Oh don't worry, Tom will not publicly debate any of the candidates. The candidates must take the debate to the public and they must hold Town Halls (with an empty chair for Tom) to show constituents that there are those that are genuinely concerned about the District and that want to understand what is important to them. Tom sure doesn't. Maybe, a well organized Town Hall will get his attention.
In an odd way, I'm glad LaBonge will win. He will continue to demonstrate how pathetic the Districts' voters are when they can't find anyone better than him.
It's the same way how Huizar's stupid constituents are under served. Same re: most of the idiots in this city. Vote fools into office, or you can't recruit better candidates? Too bad.
That's why dopey illiterate Red Spot's posts are pathetic. The people are too dumb to find better candidates.

I'm not sure you saw this during your time off, but to illustrate what an idiot Phil Jennerjahn is.
The other day, he boasted that he just "got my business cards and I'm ready to hit the campaign trail."
On the card was Phil's domain, www.PhilJennerjahn.com.
But when you go to that URL, it says Phil is running for Congress.
So the schmuck has been dicking you around for a year or more, Higby, and he didn't even bother to update his website.
And then, to top it off, he quits today and THROWS THE OTHERS UNDER THE BUS BY DECLARING VICTORY FOR LABONGE. As likely as it is that LaBonge will win, he didn't have to throw the others under the bus, including Frank Sheftel.
What on earth do you see in this fool, Higby? Hasn't foible after foible shown you that he is a vapid and vacuous fool?

I commented on another blog about the protesting at the B&N in Encino.
Yes there's starvation and lack of shelter... but here are these people, mostly mom's in a posh area of the valley, bitching about a book store being closed, meanwhile some LAUSD schools don't even have enough books for students.
And let's not forget the 12% unemployment in the city.
These ass clowns are are bitching about their food being cold while millions more don't even have food.
I decided not to retire overnight, since I looked at this photo and thought the caption should be:
"I may be a lowly turkey, but at least the country doesn't hate my healthcare reform."
(crickets)
We won't miss Phil. It would really be best if just slinked away to another city in another state.
That leaves a number of good and sincere people running against Tom LaBonge for Los Angeles City Council District 4. We must get rid of Tom.
Who are the most credible community based people running for CD4?
Does Phil ever complete anything? yes it is time to change the sheets in CD4. Ask Tom how he can cut public services at the same time giving all those overpaid DWP employees bigger pensions and salaries. Like most of the council they forget who they really work for. He is just another bought and paid for council member. We deserve better.

Dear Supporters and Friends:
Thanks to your tireless efforts to gather petition signatures, I am now officially on the ballot for the March 8th municipal elections! We were the first in this race to submit and have our signatures verified by the City Clerk, once again demonstrating that Council District 14 is ready for change.
