Arizona Loses Its Mind.

Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer signs highly controversial bill into law that allows and requires police to check for legal status of anyone they suspect of...well, not having legal status in the U.S.. No racial profiling allowed, of course. This clip is from moments after the bill was signed.

This should go over well with Latinos.

The state of Washington will soon follow Arizona in passing such a bill resulting from security threats posed by Canadian illegal immigrants who stream across our borders like ants, terrorize our lands, and take away our American jobs.

It is not surprising that the people of Arizona are so enthusiastic about their new law that things got a little out of hand at the celebration party to mark the signing of the anti illegal alien law.

The City of Los Angeles cannot afford carry the cost of providing services to illegal aliens. The City's budget troubles would be solved, and we wouldn't have to pay increased DWP charges. Imagine that?

A similar law here would probably be greeted in the same way, with regular folks just getting a little high spirited at the news that hundreds of thousands of illegals are going home.

Great post. Thanks.

2:05AM - I agree. This will go over very well with Latinos, the vast majority of whom are decent law abiding citizens who are not in favor of illegal immigration.

We need this type of law in California, we are wasting billion on education/schools, welfare, and medical care for illegal aliens and their anchor babies.

Come here illegally, whether youre a criminal or not, and that's the price you pay.

Joe, this happened because people got fed up with your boy O'Bama in record time.

if he did a better job, this would not have happened.

Every citizen of California is required to provide identification to any law enforcement officer when requested to do so. Why is everyone so upset about AZ other than most people think AZ enforces their laws while CA does not.

I hate to break this to you, Joe, but racial profiling, while not perfect, is a valuable tool for enforcing our laws.

If you were a TSA guard at LAX, would the hairs on the back of your neck stand up is Helen from Norway is checking in, or Muhammed bin Muhammed?

It's not a perfect system, but it's a valuable tool. If your sensibilities are offended by the, that's too bad...the times they are a changing because the left has given away the store, and people think that if they come here and have an anchor baby, they'll EVENTUALLY be allowed to stay.

That is no longer the case, given the state of affairs not only in the U.S., but in the world.

Go back to Mayberry, where having a Mexican in town was a novelty, rather than A leading factor in crime, blight and poverty.

Oh, and as for how something will sit with Latinos, the ones who are already citizens, who waited in life, waited their turn, and followed the rules, will not be offended, and neither will the Latinos are were born here.

Face it, O'Bama is a one-and-done president, so long as the Republicans don't put up Sarah Palin or an equivalent. I'll take a rich, smart, business leader like a Romney, or an experienced Speaker of the House from the best decade we've had in a half century (Gingrich) any day over O'bama.

And that's from a guy who VOTED FOR O'BAMA!

TSA does not engage in racial profiling. They may engage in profiling. That means that they look for suspicious people based upon how they act and whether or not, regardless of their race, appear to be suspicious.

That's worlds apart from from treating people differently just because of their race. I would like to believe that America has evolved beyond that point.

Don't be ridiculous. After George W. Bush, you are out of your mind to think that Obama will not be re-elected. He's been there one year. And he's already on track to get the country the health care we should have. He has done nothing to warrant you saying he won't be re-elected. Except to piss off Republicans. But that won't be enough to do it because nobody was more pissed off than Democrats when Bush was illegally put in office.

The tea partiers are an embarrassment to our country! I watched the you tube video of them in DC. I was seriously wishing some of those rednecks could be sent back to the country their ancestors came from! Please take them away.

And why do they mistakenly believe this country was founded on Christian principles? I learned that people came here in the 1600's for the exact opposite reason. They wanted the right to have their own or no God at all.

I'm sure there is a lot in that Arizona video that we didn't see. Obviously they were taking away one of the members of ZZ Top or something so he could escape safely from the crowd. Did you notice the young Latino holding his arms out asking everyone to stop. That was nice. Good kid.

We have as many Chinese, Russian, and Armenian illegal immigrants here as we do Mexicans. Why aren't any of you in an uproar over that?

I've read this here before and I think it sounds completely logical that the illegal immigrants who are working with fake SS cards who will NEVER be able to collect the money the US government is taking from them, will allow the Gen X'ers to collect Social Security. If we had waited for the Baby Boomers to contribute enough, we would have run out.

Nobody is taking your jobs away. Your former Republican government outsourced all of your jobs.

I can remember the first Latino in the San Fernando Valley his name was Pepino and he worked on a farm in the east valley owned by a family named McCoy’s
Now from that first Latino who married and had many members of his family populate
Many other areas of the San Fernando Valley and now the valley has a very large
Latino population that we all can thank Pepino of the McCoy farm for.

Have to take issue with your "nobody is taking jobs away comment"

A couple years ago it was announced that summer jobs were at a 32 year low for students. And its gone up since then.

I don't know where you live but in my neighborhood, go to any fast food place and a lot of the employees can barely speak English. And those are the ones they have up front serving customers.

Other stores in our business district have employees that speak no English at all.

So yes, jobs are definitely being taken away from citizens and in large numbers.

at speak

I don't think Arizona has lost its mind. Illegal immigration is ILLEGAL.

What you are talking about is: probable cause for a crime.

Police use probable cause all the time. It is their main enforcement tool.

As long as probable cause is very carefully identified and spelled out in this case, then there should not be any real issue.

How blind can these "visonaries" get?

Another default win for the Democrats with regard to Latino votes. Republicans should have learned from Prop. 187 - the reason we have a Latino as mayor now.

One thing leads to the next. The next is either working "under the table" or using false documents. Are you detractors ready to be the next victim of identity theft?

Either way the money gained heads straight out of our country . In Mexico it's one of the leading gross national products of their country. Yes, American money tops the list.

Then there is the sapping of our crucial resources. Does water shortages mean anything to you folks?

How about the gang banging, tagging kids - does that do anything for your quality of life?

The list could go on,Joe B., but your position seems rather ill-thought out.

Did you take your argument from the Nazi agenda on Jews. Sounds just the same.

It's amazing how white folk really show their true colors when pandering to their fringe elements that control their thoughts.

NO HUMAN BEING IS ILLEGAl! That was the whole justification for concentration camps.
