Sunland-Tujunga Fights Back Against Essel, the Downtown Insider

I am getting around 7 high gloss mailers a day from Chris Essel. I'm not sure which forest she and the IBEW purchased, but that's a lot of trees in my mailbox. I'm not the only one that is annoyed by the Essel mailer flood. My friends and colleagues in beautiful & independent Sunland-Tujunga have decided to fight back against the quantity, and even more importantly, the content of those mailers.

Go check out our new blog over at
http://stvoters4paul.blogspot.com
We'll be debunking the lies, bringing you the breaking news, and we'll only be around till Chris and her deep pocket donors are defeated! Bookmark us, and check back often.

You better be fighting Essel, she owns a ton of stock in Home Depot.
Did she ever bother to mention that?

Wendy led the fight against Home Depot. Wendy endorsed Essel.

Brendan Huffman led the fight FOR Home Depot. Huffman endorsed Krekorian.

Enough said.

Brendan did not lead the fight for Home Depot. He was a spokeshole for VICA. It was Latham & Watkins,
Dakota Communications, and Consensus Planning, who are all supporting Essel.

Shallman's coming. He'll be here around 4:00 a.m. as usual - you can tell from the slurred writing. You can distinguish between him and Wet Spot who's ALWAYS an incoherent mess day or night. Shallman's the one about whom you can ask, when is he lying? When he's moving his mouth or keyboard or paying someone to.

Essel's paid "volunteers" like Phil and Spot are always clueless, especially the ACORN people. The "I spit on you" folks and general haters - his rank and file - are always nonsensical and don't know what "legal" means (anything Nooch Cooley's Pooch make it up to be) but usually spoll mostly OK.

Wendy only wanted to defuse the Home Depot situation when it became clear it would be her undoing, that the supporters wouldn't go away quietly.

Then she forget about and ignored them. Typical Shallman client gimmick. FALSETanich took it to a new low. Just like E$$el's copying.

Is the person @12:03 poking fun at the people of S-T, or did someone really just post that in seriousness?

And now can we get help in keeping Home Depot out of Mission Hills on the hotel property "Guest Inn" on Sepulveda?

I hope the Sunland-Tujunga pros can come help us. We don't need one with our favorite True Value Hardware store directly across the street!

If you think the people in Council District 2 are too stupid to decide what's good for them, then let downtown decide for them. That is what this election is about.

That's what it is all about, plain and simple. Of course, you will know whether CD 2 is too stupid because JennerJack on a Candle Stick will be your Field Deputy. Good luck getting your street cleaned.

Sunland-Tujunga wouldn't know a good thing if it hit its residents in the face.

People who are ungrateful for the hundreds of J-O-B-S that Home Depot would have brought.

I have to ask, what is in the place that would have been the Home Depot? Is it providing hundreds of jobs now? Good jobs? Any jobs? Any business taxes?

Or is it now an empty shell of a building waiting for a business to come in and bring it, and jobs, and taxes to life?

Yes, but thank God it's not shitty old Home Depot who treats its employees like crap and do not respect the communities in which it operates.

Is Krekorian flooding us with 7 flyers a day? Short answer? NO

Don't respond to Phil's idiotic comment. Do as PHIL does, which is wait for about 15 hours, until the comment is buried and just be dismissive of him, the way he is of us.

That'll show him. Then, when he bottle caps you, you can do it back to him.

See how easy it is when you deal with a fuckin' child?

Wendy did not lead the fight against Home Depot. She was dragged kicking and screaming to the table.

Home Depot would not have employed very many people from Sunland-Tujunga. Most of them would have come from Pacoima and San Fernando.

1029, if that's so, it's just because the s.t. people aren't bright enough to get jobs at home depot. Otherwise, why do you think they wouldn't get work there?

PS u have to be really thick in the skull to not get a job at home depot. it's a fucken hardware store!

How many times have you posted on this site and have been wrong...many times. Joe B. Keep on writing...your stories are credible and truly represent what the people feel. Higby don't let Phil post on your blog anymore...its pointless information.

DEAR 8:02 AM

I am inviting you and all who are interested to attend our STNC meetings, and also check out our website for the minutes. (http://www.stnc.org)

You will find that our community members have been busy improving our community with a project that will utilize the former Kmart property (site of the former Home Depot Project)for the benefit of our entire region

You will discover that Mission College is coming to the former Kmart site and they are working to also bring in a much needed Target type general store to share the property. They plan to use funds from the rental of the property to pay for operating expenses. Prop J funds are committed for purchasing the land, demolishing the old unsafe building and erecting new buildings for our satellite campus. The college will be using only one third of the property and we will also be getting a much needed community room. We will also have sub-terrain parking.

The College will be holding a meeting with our neighborhoods toward the end of January to discuss and obtain community input in order to help determine what programs will best benefit our presently underserved region. We already have several good program suggestions from community members which is a very positive step for our community.

The STNC Land Use Committee meeting is tonight(Monday) at 7 pm North Valley City Hall, 7747 Foothill Blvd. Everyone is welcome to attend. You are also invited to attend our General Meeting, held the second Wednesday of each month, at the same location.
