Here Comes Sunland-Tujunga!

Mary Benson & STNC Prez Dan McManus speak with Paul at Saturday's Opening of his S-T Campaign office.

Abby Diamond & Paul Exchange some ideas.

Paul's office in S-T is up & running. Where is Chris Essel's?

Fellow Citizens,

On Tuesday, December 8, 2009, the City of Los Angeles will conduct the Council District 2 Special Runoff Election. This election will determine who will represent all of us on the Los Angeles City Council for the next 14 months, at a minimum, and potentially for longer than a decade.

We believe that Paul Krekorian is the person who should fill the seat on the City Council. His successful track record in public service demonstrates his ability to identify issues, come up with creative solutions, and work hard to get them implemented. We need this fresh approach in City Hall.

Paul will be ready to take the CD2 reins on day one and tackle the many issues facing the City of Los Angeles. His strong record on the environment, support for saving the Verdugo Hills Golf Course, and willingness to buck the status quo will serve the citizens of Council District 2 well.

Join us and vote for Paul Krekorian on December 8th.

At 11 a.m. on Saturday, Paul will officially open his campaign office in Sunland-Tujunga, at 10019 Commerce Ave. We hope you will join us so you can meet Paul and see for yourself why we firmly believe he is the best choice for Sunland-Tujunga, Shadow Hills, La Tuna Canyon and the entire second district.

Sincerely,

Mary Benson

OMG what is happening to this blog? The last four posts have been about CD2 or 14.

Where is Higby and why are we missing out on all the other news going on?

With all due respect Joe, you and Phil have done nothing but volley campaign-type posts from the candidates that enlighten us on nothing, since we've seen these things a hundred times already.

Why are you not able to regulate yourselves? Why does it appear that you need Higby to babysit you guys?

Well well well, we see again the S-T so called leaders of the community back a loser. They were behind Tamar before, we saw how that turned out. Face it people- Its Essel on the 8th so get used to it. How nice it will be to send Paul packing back to Burbank. You can tell Paul sees this one slipping through his slick fingers. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Look for the mud to fly. I've heard Paul does not taking losing lightly.

Yawn - Essel's winning in all the polls. Krekorian is 'opening' his campaign now? What's he been doing all this time? Typical Sacramento attitude. Essel's been campaigning since the primary election. That's the difference between another Jack Weiss career politician hack and and a business minded independent.

Put that on your resume when you run for Congress, and remind us how many signatures you have for the Recall Antonio effort? We're half-way to December now and you promised us this update in October.

Who Failed?
Filed under: Deport the Criminals First, General — Jack Dunphy @ 10:03 am
The Los Angeles Times reports on a woman who was murdered by her estranged boyfriend as two LAPD officers sat in their car outside her apartment. Once alerted to the attack, the officers went to the apartment but a metal security door prevented them from entering. One officer shot through a window and struck the suspect. The woman and the suspect were taken to a hospital where they both died. The reader comments to the story are dominated by, what else, people blaming the police for the woman’s death, most often in a semi-literate fashion.

It remains to be seen what failures, if any, were committed by the LAPD in this case, but there is one government agency that unquestionably failed this poor woman, and thus far I’ve seen no reporting on it. The estranged boyfriend had been deported less than a year ago after convictions for various felonies, but he nonetheless thought nothing of returning to Los Angeles and resuming his criminal habits.

The officers of the Border Patrol strive bravely to do their job even as the country lacks the political will to see that job done effectively. Save some outrage for those who, for political reasons, allowed this evil man unfettered passage into the country.

Phil, what is YOUR track record? If you subtract the REALLY embarrassing dropping out of college/law school, and a last place finish in the mayor's race, and very funny food table write ups, you've got nothing.

Oh, and those 240,000 signatures that you've not collected to recall Villaraigosa. That's pretty bad too. The fact that you refuse to respond is also embarrassing because it's going to follow you around forever.

You have all the qualities of a last place finish for Congress too. Shit, I cannot wait for that to roll around.

Krekorian was right to let them out because they are all low-grade criminals who made a few silly mistakes and keeping them in jail is a waste of money.

Those "low grade criminals" do not get to State Prison for "one little mistake"

Whoever wrote the stupid post about that needs to spend a little time in the criminal justice system.

Plea bargains are the norm; a first offender in almost every situation is given misdemeanor status or, if nothing like that is available, they get suspended sentences with a probation that includes a little county jail time, maybe.

They need to be bad guys and girls to get to State Prison, and you don't want one of them, let alone 40,000 of them hanging around in your neighborhood and endangering you and your family.

Wise up; Kerkorian went with the Democratic caucus because he is a professional politician, just what we don't need more of in Los Angeles.

We need Chris Essel and more citizens like her to step up and help govern; no more Nancy Pelosis and Harry Reids.

Paul Kerkorian is cut from the same cloth as those two tax and spenders.

There are some councilmembers who don't want to get audited either who are giving him cover but even Shallman's toadies have to speak out - Trutanich is roundly hated by business, unions, everyone.

The Daily News has long ago joined Doug McIntyre and others who got suckered by him into telling him to knock it off and do what's best for the city, not himself based on some totally ignorant idea of what it means to be "winners and losers" in legal matters. His Pissant Podunk lawfirm attitudes are disastrous for L A.

Even Walter Moore keeps writing about how he's abusing the law, trying to shake down AEG for millions when their contract explicity said they're not obligated. Don't like the law, let the politicians change it - this idiot is NOT himself the law like he thinks.

Only the Police Politican goons which blew a wad on him are still trying to shore him up by giving him awards that attract no buyers and promoting him on their blogs.

The Times finally means what it says but you can't comprehend; they have to grow a pair and stop letting the NOoch drag this on by blaming THEM, when in fact he and his Liar In Chief Carter want to go behind closed doors - wanted to shut Wendy out of the room altogether - precisely so people can't SEE them telling the Council to behave in the irresponsible way they have. Carter also didn't WANT his disgustingly shameless lie to stiff Chick/Woocher be seen by all, as the low-down trick it is. The gutless council didn't do the right thing weeks ago, including Perry, who only found out what Chick had the hard way, after NoGoodNuch threatened to jail HER and AEG and countless others when he had no right.

In fact, if AEG doesn't sue the city for his extortion in trying to shake them down when they're explicitly NOT required to pay the fees for the Jackson events, we'll be lucky.

Today's Daily News article points out the many ways he's behaved not only stupidly, but based on wrong numbers, over that. AND illegally, both in terms of being a thug in direct VIOLATION of their contractual agreement, and in HOW he did it, by extortion, and abusing our city staff and the power of his office - if that shameless rightwing DA weren't his puppetmaster stringing him along to do his dirty work in his political vendettas, charges would have been filed already.

IF the Council weren't cowards who have no idea what the hell they're doing, they'd ORDER Nooch to leave AEG (and any others in similar situations) ALONE. OR ELSE.

Since the NOoCH won't/ can't grow up, the Council finally has to - stop letting him and Zine keep dragging them and the city down into this illegal and unethical disgrace.

1:28 was a reply to 12:07 on the PREVIOUS thread, about Krekorian, that's why it seems incongruous. A reply to the guy who addresses himself to "lying asshole" while proving himself to be what he calls others. Relevant here because if you want an endorsement from someone you need to understand who he is.
