Appeal Fees Frozen...For Now
This morning, the City Council voted to keep the current fee structure for Appeals to City Planning and Building & Safety as they currently stand. Facing outrage from just about every neighborhood group in the City, the CC was forced to rescind the effort to increase these fees by as much as 2000%. Citing abuse of the Appeals system by unscrupulous parties ranging from serial filers to out of state interests, CM Reyes said he hoped to return to the Council in 30 days with a new improved fee schedule for consideration. Wouldn't it make more sense to crack down on the abusers than to force the public to pay for something that our taxes are already supposed to cover?
Neighborhood groups and activists had complained that little or no prior warning had been sent out about the fee increase, something that LA City Planning denied.
The only group that spoke in favor of raising the fees was the
Central City Association (CCA).This is the same organization that supports SB1818 and Financial Disclosure by Neighborhood Council members.
The Daily News has the story HERE (although some of their numbers are way off what was proposed).

Your nothing but a front for Eric Hacopian.
CCA has a lot more supporters in CD2 than any of the NC losers you hang out with.

Congratulations 6:52, you win the coveted "bizarre comment of the day".

My guess is that Essel supported this before she opposed it too...you know, to get the poor entertainment industry some respect in this town.
6:52, you must be on something. CD 2 voters have no idea what CCA is and don't care. What CD 2 voters want is someone that's not in the pocket of CCA and other orgs like it, because if your with CCA, it's almost a certainty that you are not with the community.

Without a doubt Joe, 6:52 is delirious. And the syntax- oh the syntax!
"CCA (an entity) has more supporters (a certain number perhaps?) than any (a particular one) of the NC losers (people) you hang out with."
Well, yeah, stupid- an organization usually has more supporters than any one person. That's what makes it an "association"- get it?
So what's your point? Do you support increased appeal fees or not?

Don't be intimidated by the Essel thugs. They are trying to discredit all community leaders that have a following of any kind.
First Judy Price, John Walker this morning and now you.

Joe - were you with me and Eric Hacopian and Parke for breakfast to get marching orders? I wasn't sure I saw you there.
Next time you see Hacopian ask him where's the check?

Yes, I had the vegetable egg white omelet with the budget busting socialist salsa.
