Considering how Sigala ran the Rudy Bermudez for State Senate campaign, it is not surprising that the Echo Park NC has become the latest dysfunctional poster boy on what ails the Neighborhood Council Program.
** Wonder how Mayor Sam diversity trainer/ poster "Archie Bunker" would respond if his favorite ex City Controller/ Councilwoman. Laura Chick, were to run for governor ?? Former Fabian Nunez spokesperson Steve Maviglio has her on his list of democrats he thinks could run for the state's top political office.
** KFI's Eric Leonard is reporting that AEG is making overtures to the LAPD, seeking to donate some camera platform proceeds to a LAPD charity that is use to buy equipment for police use. Still, mum is the word on the investigation by City attorney Carmen Trutanich into possible criminal misconduct regarding the non-permitted Jackson Memorial. ** KTLA Channel 5 reporter Eric Spillman is becoming the visual media version of fellow Tribune employee David Zahniser. Spillman post on his blog that he has filed a California Public Records Act request with the Mayor's Office, seeking information on the cost of the Mayor's travels. Then he is treated to these crypted responses from his questions about the Mayor's current vacation by Mayor Spokesperson Matt Szabo.
** The government watchdog group Judical Watch is suing the LAPD seeking to overturn Special Order 40. "There are two federal laws and a California state law that we think are being violated as a result of the sanctuary policy that obviously helps illegal aliens avoid detection," Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton says".
** Former Councilman Nick Pacheco Campaign Manager and Montebello City Councilman Robert Urteaga is awaiting the decision from the Montebello City Clerk, if the Recall Petition against him and Councilwoman Kathy Salazar garnered the require signatures.
** The surly blogger from Mar Vista Hill and supposed Pulitzer Winner known as the "Westside White Guy" Kevin Roderick, takes issues to a story in Ron Kaye's fledging "OurLA.org Website". Could it be that "Pulitzer" sees Kaye's endeavor as a fact-laden counter to his West LA centric view of civic life east of the 405 ??

Noone cares
Huizy's been gutting the CLARTS fund, $50,000 at a time for years (look up "CLARTS" in the council file database, if you doubt - and see hundreds of thousands wisked away); transferring the $$ into his general purposes cache for pretty much anything he and staff want to use it for, and without any further accountability.
They plead poverty, budget cutbacks, reduced discretionary funds -- IF your not one of his supporters, but for the others, there's a handy slush fund they can tap into anytime they wish.
You can bet there's nothing left in a fund that was projected at times to produce a half-million each year, and since the specific expenditures were actually FROM his general purposes, the only "trail" will be those $50,000 at a time "for district amenities" transfers.
Here's one vague transfer from just a few months ago, there are MANY, many more in the files.

The General City Purposes (GCP) portion of the 2008-2009 City Budget provides funds
to assist local neighborhood programs services and needs in each Council District.
There is a great need for additional funding for community amenities in Council District
Fourteen. This effort is of special benefit for the residents of the City and for CD-14 and deserves financial assistance from the City.
Sufficient funds are available in the CLARTS Community Amenities Trust Fund which could be transferred to the CD 14 sub-account of the Council District Community Services line
item in the GCP portion of the 2008-2009 budget for this purpose.
I THEREFORE MOVE that $50,000 in the Central Los Angeles Recycling and Transfer Station (CLARTS) Community Amenities Trust Fund No. 47S, Department 14, be transferred to the General City Purposes Fund No. 100-56, Account No. 0714 (CD 14 Community Services) to provide funding for community amenities in Council District Fourteen.

You forgot all the LAPD officers who don't like Huizar cause he gives his cell phone number to Hazard Gang Bangers in Ramona Gardens. Huizar is the biggest "pussy" like the other council members call him. He cries and acts like a big baby if he doesn't get his way and is always trying to get officers in trouble. He is known to snitch on officers who ticket illegal vendors. His buddies like Ozzie Lopez drives a brand new Mercedes. Raul Estrada has an expensive Harley bike and these work for non profits. Huizar knows he has an uphill battle to get re elected this is why he's having these ridiculous breakfasts with all his kiss asses. Everyone knows they are the losers who are his bitches.

You forgot the corruption at the Estrada Courts Housing projects that Alatorre has his hands in like Antonio and Huizar. Sad, the guys that run it have said Huizar is always threatening them to do what he says like show up to meetings and pretend to support what he does like liquor license. These Mafiaos need the Feds to come investigate all the corruption in downtown LA real estate, Wyvenwood, Estrada Courts, now Ramona Gardens with USC's gov't person Galviz, the liquor license who donate money to Antonio and Huizar that lazy ass reporters fail to write about, non profits giving Huizar money and a lot more.

Now even Eagle Rockers who were his core support are criticizing his laziness. Every council agenda continues to have special event waivers passed for thousands of dollars.
...City can no longer waive fees or cover the full costs for local community events and street closures. However we are looking to find ways to remedy the situation at the city level.

Council files show about 55-60 "transactions" pulling funds from CLARTS since Huizar took office, many of them with no specific use for the money detailed, just non-descript "community amenities" (maybe "fireworks shows"?), and more and more, at the rate of $50K per unaccountable disbursement. Maybe Wendy Greuel should look into that?

Heard LA Times is looking into Huizar's use of 199's or better said "misuse" of public funds. Jose you are not allowed to campaign using public funds.
