Idea for Open Thread: Post real subjects instead of open threads. How come LAObserved never needs open threads? There is no vitriol there, and no comments. Just good hard work and output.

Is it any wonder why this blog has fallen to #13, while Zuma Dogg's has soared to #2?
At least zuma dogg puts in some effort, though if you believe what he is writing today, he's leaving the business.
Personally I don't think he has the ability to quit. But that's what he's saying, and comparing his low key departure to the high profile one of Johnnie Carson.
I know this is an Open Thread, but enough please of the lunatic fringe stuff.

Look if you guys want to pay me I'll blog more. Otherwise I can make oodles of money elsewhere and have found better things to do with my time.
I no longer believe Los Angeles can be saved. Therefore I'm not wasting my time on it. Its now all about making money and having fun until Rome burns.
So if you care to join me there, come on along.
And if I get the mood to rif on Villar or when Jan Perry does something stupid again I'll post.
Or if I get bored.

I wish you'd write more, but at the very least I'd like to see you back to doing your Hotsheets. They're needed in this world.

Don't get me wrong. I like doing hotsheets but they can take 3-4 hours. And between long hours at work and other stuff I'm doing these days its tough. And I'm no longer willing to stay up until 2-3 am to get it done.
I will try my best though. Thanks for your comments and all your great work!
By the way Mary C/Haikook comments are not allowed at Mayor Sam and we're getting pretty good at identifying them and rejecting them.

Sure you can. Last day for applying is June 29th. I'll be with the Sunland-Tujunga Alliance float so you'll have to get the burros up here to ride with you.

Regardless, IMO, the blog is just as good with out your input as it is with. Which was marginal at best.
The one compliment I can offer is that you are at least man enough to admit it. Your absence over the past few months is no longer news. And now that you have entrenched phil as the lead, we all have a handle that you're comfortable with it. Good luck tho in getting to that 2millionth visit.

Higby is in charge and has done amazing things with this blog. I think most of you would agree with that.
However, it is a lot of work and I agreed to help out a few times a week.... but I don't want to do all the work here, either. I think Mayor Sam is best when it is a shared, cooperative venture.
I'm pretty far to the right, but I like hearing other views, also. I don't care for all the gay marriage stuff lately, but people are entitled to their own opinions. I think it is healthy to have balance on this blog.
I do not agree with you on the social issues Phil. But I think you are a good honest man. Anything you run for, if Zuma isn't on th bill, you have my vote. I'll beat you up about the social issues later. You're a good man for local government. Yes yes Higby did an amazing thing with this bog.

That's Dennis Zine riding without a helmet. He's no liberal. He's a Republican like you.
That's true, Zine's a Republican and so is Nuch although he's claimed to be "independent" for the election. But he's a lifelong Republican and his campaign manager John Thomas is known as "a young Republican party strategist" so calling them liberals as Phil did is just bizarre.
Shows he assumes ALL stupid behavior must be done by liberals, typical of the Republicans who can't be objective. Whereas I think you can see evidence that Zine the Republican has ridden without his helmet a few too many times and not just in parades.

The Councilmember Dennis Zine considers himself a RepubliCRAT” with a more liberal social policy.
Let those who ride decide. This country allows people the freedom to smoke cigarettes and kill themselves so why not the freedom to wear a helmet?
Government should not tell you what to do and limit your freedom.
Thanks Dennis Zine for supporting those that choose not to wear a helmet. It is freedom to choose. People have freedom of choice when it comes to abortion. How about helmets?
We want the freedom to choose too. Maybe we should get those abortion activists on our side.
