O'Donnell is clueless and should do some research before shooting his mouth off on that ultra-lib station PMSNBC.

Californians are now paying over 9% SALES TAX and that started just this month, under the watchful eye of our Great Leader, Barry Hussein Obama.

These transactions affect us every day as we pay for goods and services here. It is the highest rate it has EVER been! Of course, Kool Aid drinking libs like O'Donnell won't bring that up. They are too busy kneeling and bowing to the Kool Aid Distributor-in-Chief.

Typical nonsense from the left.

The Tea Parties are also a protest against the aggressive behavior of our government against its citizens. I didn't vote for accelerated Socialism and neither did anyone I know.

It wasn't on the ballot.

I hope you are not actually looking for a fair and balanced report from MSNBC are you? The network is unwatchable (especially the sportscaster Keith Olberman!).

They are protesting the Obama Administration attempt to powergrab by using the economic crisis to push through liberal ideas that have languished for decades.

Quoting Ram Emanuel, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. What I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before. This is an opportunity. What used to be long-term problems -- be they in the health care area, energy area, education area, fiscal area, tax area, regulatory reform area -- things that we had postponed for too long that were long-term are now immediate and must be dealt with. And this crisis provides the opportunity for us, as I would say, the opportunity to do things that you could not do before."

To me, this is VERY scary rhetoric.

Dear Naive Phil:

That which you voted for, that which you are getting, was on the ballot. It came in the form of two presidential candidates who spent a painful amount of time discussing the issues.

Now you have a president who is doing what he said he'd do during the campaign.

The fact that your candidate lost, and your political point of view was rejected is one thing. Just suck it up. We had how many years of your guy as president and your people in control of Congress?

But shouldn't you be thankful that we have a president who is doing something and not just sitting around enjoying the title?

Oh, and by the way, anyone who disagress with you is not a socialist.

To Alger or whichever one of the three anonymous Obama lovers who regularly post on MS...

I don't need to call Obama a socialist or for him to be a socialist to be concerned.

Plain vanilla liberal Democratic policies are enough to concern me.

The old school Democrats like FDR, JFK, LBJ, HHH, etc. were big government types but they also understood the importance of the free market.

The new school leftists like Jimmah Carter, Teddy K, Yenta Nancy Pelosi, Yenta H Reid, etc. don't get that business not government drives America and always has.

Last night Howard Dean was on Big Mouth Olbermann saying that we need to relieve business of the burden of paying for health care so that US companies can compete with China and Canada where the government pays for health care. If the US Govt paid for health care businesses would have one less expense Dummy Dean was saying.

So - if the government pays for it where does the money come from? The Man in the Moon? No, it comes in higher taxes - so where are you relieving the burden?

I think even Obama gets that.

Someone needs to point out to Phil that President Obama did not raise our sales tax. The California legislature did, in a budget proposed by the Republican governor, with the votes of a few Republicans as well as the Democrats. The vote came lest than a month in to the presidency of Barack Obama.

Oh, and President Obama doesn't sit in the California legislature.

Blame him for raising income taxes on earners making more than $250,000.

Blame him for pushing bailouts of failed corporations.

Call his health care plans socialized medicine. (Of course, it only demonstrates your ignorance because no plan in Washington is socialized medicine.)

But blaming the President of the United States for your sales tax? Which is set by your state, county, and city government? Are you really that ignorant?

No, instead he has to refer to the President of the United States in derogatory terms proving yet again how low the right wing will go.

However he's wrong to blame Arnold for this tax increase -- it's only necessary because Democrats wouldn't cut costs or let him cap the state's expenses when he wanted to years ago. So now there's a bipartisan effort to trim the deficit from both ends, cutting costs and raising taxes.

NOT an ideal situation for anyone because neither side/ party was willing to give til they jointly created this hole. Arnold's taking the heat from both sides as a result, as if he should have just smashed all their heads together. Maybe he should have.

When you see who is showing up to these Tea Bag parties, I wonder if these people are even in the $250,000 salary range of the people who will be paying the 3% more, once this tax repeal expires.

So it's really not a new tax, or tax hike, because it is a repeal that is expiring, and is only going to apply (from what they are saying) to people in the $250,000 income range.

AND, if you ARE a small business owner and your business is tied into your own money, and all that stuff...the 3% difference that this will cause, only applies to PROFITS, once all the payroll, and related business expenses and write-offs are applied. So it's only on the profits if that applies to your situation.

So unless you are someone in the $250,000 range, you may be nothing but a prop if you are showing up to these rallies to protest what you are perceiving as new and higher taxes.

I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT STATE STUFF...I'm talking about these national tea parties.

I think the people making the big money are just testing out their "action" button, like a fire drill, to see if they can show some political clout. But I hope the people protesting this aren't just being used as props for the people who are against this.

I know by the time you are making that much money, you may not have as much of a problem with paying the extra 3% to prevent a complete meltdown and full blown depression, with makes like much more than 3% less fun.

Anyway, this is really outside of my local jurisdiction, but some of these tea bag parties are inside my local jurisdiction. And ZD doesn't like people to be used as political props, as you know.

Especially, if they are scared into thinking it is going to affect them, when it won't.

Phil, you're a nice guy, but you are absolutely wrong on this issue. The real "nonsense" is that so many misguided people have been duped into thinking they are protesting a personal federal tax increase. It's not going to happen. Yes, WE ARE PAYING HIGHER TAXES !!
Care to dispute that?

And yes, we do have a Republican as Governor, but he is a RINO!! He is damaging the party with his behavior. He was loudly booed at opening night for the Lakers...(I was there).

The California Legislature has been dominated by the Democrats for decades and they always push for more taxes and more control.

So Phil, according to your bass ackwards logic, they are protesting in Texas because of California State Sales Taxes?

Fox News sponsored this ridiculous spectacle because local taxes were to high? And I have my head up my rear end?

People don't like paying taxes... stop the presses. Breaking news there.

Fact is that a fraction of 1% of the people who didn't vote for Obama showed up to these events and they were way off the message the right wingnuts were spinning.

Some don't like Obama's birth status... because they know better than the US Supreme Court.

Some don't like the spending... because they know better than Nobel prize winning economists.

Some are protesting a federal tax increase that doesn't exist yet and wouldn't apply to them anyway.

Some think Obama's a socialist, apparently unaware of what that even means and missing the irony of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, disability, Unemployment etc. I suppose they want all of those socialist programs to go away as well.

Some believe we are entering a time of "tyranny" in the United States, apparently unaware that we hold elections.

There was even a bunch of folks who said they weren't opposing Obama, but some larger "big government" vague bogey man.

Then there was the Govorner of Texas who wants "nothing to do" with the Federal Government... perhaps we could get our Billions of dollars back, stop building the fence, and alert FEMA that there services are no longer needed in Galvaston.

There were those who were criticizing "wastefull spending" while trying to dump a million teabags in Laffayette Square... apparently the irony escaping them.

And then there are people like you, who are just pissed that your side lost the election, your party has no leadership, no ideas, no clue, and no power.

Your problem Phil isn't that I don't know what I am talking about. Your problem is that we know more than you. Now go back to your right wing sandbox and think up some original material instead of spewing out Fox News talking points and name calling. Oh, and that is Prsident Obama sir... you don't have to respect the man, but the least you could do is respect the office.

ZD: I won't deny that some of the messages had nothing to do with bailouts, taxes and stimulus pork. Frankly, I wish people would've focused on those rather than making it into a "Let's Bash Obama" protest.

But unlike liberal "we never met a protest we didn't like" protesters, most conservatives in attendance that day were pretty new to the civil disobedience game.

If anything, the lack of coordination and confused messaging only proves that this was not GOP astroturfing, as some have claimed.

My problem with your comment was that you appeared to paint all of us with a very large "wacko" brush, rather than simply referring to the few....and I do mean VERY few...misguided folks who we allowed to peacefully assemble alongside us.

Perhaps we should have taken a page from the liberal playbook by screaming and yelling at them and placed our placards in front of theirs so as to fully stifle their right to free speech.

Again, we're still kinda new to all of this.

"Wacko" protesters show up at both left and right-leaning events. They are really nothing new under the sun.

Lastly, if you're going to film us, the least you can do is be a bit more intellectually honest about your intentions.

IT'S UNEDITED FOOTAGE??? THEY COULD HAVE ANSWERED HOWEVER THEY WANTED? If I was the wrong, dumb, bad-guy, it would have come across that way, and maybe to some it did. It's basically the same thing I did at the N'Sync concert and American Idol auditions. Half the people think I am paying tribue to American Idol, but half the people think I am making fun of them. IT DEPENDS ON WHETHER YOU LIKE AMERICAN IDOL OR NOT IN THE FIRST PLACE! It's called art, and video is my medium and I am the undisputed master of our generation, compared to Lenny Bruce and Andy Kaufman; causually refered to as an "icon" based on the public access airings of my art (like a museum showing on TV); and it goes up hill from there in the accolaid department. Sorry I am not being more "intellectually honest." Zuma Dogg will try to be less deciteful. Perhaps a class action lawsuit should be filed against me by those poor, unknowing suspects who were decieved by my lack of honesty. (Tissue please!)]

Of course, you are under no obligation to do so but I've always found you to be a rather fair and decent person.

At least up until now.

[OH NO, HEY HIGBY!!! WHO COULD THIS POSTER POSSIBLY BE??? I HAVE NO IDEA??? I've always been rather fair and decent, AT LEAST UP UNTIL NOW...

Oh no...Gretsky is down on the ice!!! Batman has turned to crime!!! Down goes Tyson! Is Zuma Dogg no longer a fair and decent person? It appears as though he is NOT. Oh the humanity. It's the worst thing since the Hindenberg going down.

O.K., I take back the part where I said you weren't that much of a crybaby loser. You need 9-1-1 Emergency Crybaby Response.

ZD: Okay, so you're not a fair and decent person. Sorry for the compliment.

Sheesh dude...and to think I almost considered voting for you. Gawd forbid an iconic narcissist such as yourself might have accidentally shook the hand of a loser, pussy-ass voter like me.

Oh wait...you already did.

BTW, I am and have always commented here as The Ugly American.

I also frequently comment at LAist, LA Metroblogs and many of the top conservative blogs.

In short, I am not a freakin' sock puppet.

I've tried to maintain a respectful dialogue here with you but apparently you're incapable of dropping that silly street image long enough to have any sort serious interaction with a real human being.

No worries...I won't be bothering you about this again.

The thread is yours ...I'm gonna go cry into my pillow now.
