Troops Deployed Abroad Give 6:1 to Obama!
The Center for Responsive Politics is reporting today that troops stationed overseas are donating
money to Barack Obama's campaign at 6x the amount they are to McCain's. I guess if you just got your tour in Iraq extended for another 12 months, you'd be a bit upset as well.
Does this mean we can look forward to "Support Our Troops, Vote For Their Candidate" ribbons?

OH Yeah! Well I bet the "troops" at Blackwater Corp and KBR are supporting McSame by 10 to 1.
I ,might too if the $100,000. a year gig peeling spuds was on the line.
As McSame said, we could be in Iraq for a hundred years, now that's job security.
But they only get to cast ONE vote!
Collectively, the troops overseas make up a group only a fraction the size of Rhose Island.
But they are our troops. They are the ones with their asses on the line everyday. I think their sentiments should be taken seriously and not looked at as some minority voting block.

The report tracked donations of $200 or more. It found that 859 members of the military donated a total of $335,536 to Obama. McCain received $280,513 from 558 military donors.
Among soldiers serving overseas at the time of their donations, 134 gave a total of $60,642 to Obama while 26 gave a total of $10,665 to McCain. That was less than the amount received by Republican Ron Paul, who collected $45,512 from 99 soldiers serving abroad, the report said.
A big story? I think not..
Give money, maybe; vote, no way.
Not a big story, Red, but certainly revealing as to what the boots on the ground are thinking. Historically speaking, this is an upset!
Who would give money to someone they did not intend to vote for?
