Mayor Sam's Hotsheet for Monday

LA County Supervisors have raised taxes again.  Property owners will be required to cough up another $50 million per year to fund the County's beleaguered hospital system.  Supervisor Mike Antonovich cast the lone dissenting vote.

Media Alert: If you thought the City using law enforcement resources to hassle the Shaw Family August 17th at Leimert Park was an abuse of power by the City, check back here on the blog at about 9:00 a.m. for a story about how a City agency has threatened community activists with police action for speaking their minds.

The scandal around deposed union leader Tyrone Freeman has fired up the battle between the SEIU and the EAA which represents the City's engineers and architects.  EAA has begun running radio commercials calling on LA's elected leaders to begin an investigation of the controversial SEIU. With labor divided and potentially in hot water, does this open the door for a candidate with means to enter the race and challenge a wounded Mayor Villaraigosa?

A Mexican national who allegedly massacred 19 people in Tijuana ten years ago has been found living in East Los Angeles. Jesus Ruben Moncada was arrested while taking out his garbage by ICE agents and handed over to 500 Mexican federal agents at the border Friday.

We usually ignore local blog crank Don Quixote, however I had to note his comment on our post about potential John McCain running mate Bobby Jindal.  Quixote who often posts comments on other blogs calling me a racist posted a bigoted comment about Jindal's Indian heritage. Good to see Don being consistent.

If you didn't have a chance to visit the blog over the weekend, here are some stories you may want to catch up on:
And finally, apparently actress Denise Richards' Hidden Hills neighbors weren't big on her shooting a reality show at her home.  So now, the 5600 square foot, five bedroom home is listed for sale at $4.25 million, about $100,000 than she paid for it.

Will you please get your facts straight before posting bullshit this time on Leimert Park. It was Office of Public Safety Officers not LAPD and the photos prove it yet you keep posting the same crap.

Mayor Sam Higby thanks for the recognition, although the bigot label I must reject.
Maybe as one so bigoted as yourself you react to others observations (the Bobby Jindal Indian owned Motel connection) from your own bigoted mindset.

As I stated in the Bobby Jindal for vice president post up of yours Jindal is a scion of the mainly Indian owned motel business, almost totally dominated by immigrants or offspring from the Punjab region of northern India.
This group of immigrants from Punjab, Gujarat, (northern India) is where Jindals parents and family are from, and this is the area where almost all the Indian Motel Owners in the USA are from. These people own over 60% of all the hotels and motels in the USA and Jindal is one of their favorite son's and he in turn depends heavily on lobbying money from this successful Indian Hotel Owners Association, (mainly the Patel family), look it up Mayor Sam before you open your mouth and accuse someone of bigotry.

And if you ever traveled around the country by motor vehicle you would know how dominant the Indians are in the Motel business.

When I insinuate that the US public may have a problem with a VP candidate, a 37 year old, ex Hindu Catholic, who is a scion of the Motel Industry I mean just that.
OK I inserted a little humor with the Interstate 10 Motel label (although indeed this motel does exist and is run of course by the Patel’s of Punjab India) but I stand by my statements and reject your bigot label.
Bigotry only applies when one lies or exaggerates the truth to smear or demean a person; you ought to know about that Mayor Sam Higby.
Do yourself a favor a read below.

** America's Patel Motels **
How Indians ended up running over half of the motels in the United States.

Dude at 6:24, yes, that is a pic of some of OoPS's finest in action at Leimert Park. No one is arguing. But look- we've seen the internal City report on the raid. An LAPD SLO along with the City Atty's office did the pre-raid briefing at SW Division. That makes LAPD "involved". Intimately involved.

There's the straight sh*t and you wanting it to not be true won't change the facts.

Don Quackers is quackers but facts is facts.

Anyone of you uneducated wankers looking for racism under every rock see movie "Mississippi Masala," by Indian filmmaker Mira Nair? Girl from a motel-owning family in the south (like Patels) falls in love with black man -- Denzel Washington -- and her family especially the men, her dad and bros, try to bust them up? (And bust up Denzel in the process?) Because it's beneath their daughter to get it on with a black man, even though their skin is just as dark, and they've learned the American way of playing the race card when it's in their favor.) Nair made the movie to shine a light on her own community.

Yikes! 9:33 That is so very creepy. It looks like that Biden wm. wants some chocolate, sorry.

Yes that had a slight racist overtone, but it wasn't the xenophobic vitriol we've come to expect from don quixler. The man can put Idi Amin and Police Chief Bull Connors to shame when he get warmed up.

RonKaye repeating this garbage as gospel, that the LAPD and city staged all this complete with garbage trucks and choppers just to fight Jamiel's Law and the Shaws, is the nail in his coffin as a "news man." No wonder the Daily News fired him -- too bad they've gone in the opposite direction with that "Gracias" Editor Carolina Garcia - who hired two Garzas, Mariel for Opinion Editor and Oscar/Tu Ciudad for Content Editor, to set the tone for the paper. But Ron and his "RonKayeans" have become a joke.

EAA is a horrible union. They reported me(and false accusations at that...of organizing a anti union meeting I had nothing to do with) to my employer. This is because I wanted the anonymous EAA staffers, who lob bombs a la Ann Coulter, to identify themselves before I would permit any further posts from them. I publicly hadn't even taken sides in the matter beween them and SEIU. Who wants a union that reports its own employees to management? And who wants a union representing them that fights back like this and is completely incapable of arguing fact and logic?
