Spot,
It is indeed a very powerful picture. For many many many years my late grandfather, the Rev. Bernardo Rodriguez, was the minister at the Iglesia del Nazareno in Echo Park. (here's a link with a picture of it: http://www.daplus.us/ShowPhoto.aspx?abi=4B186E75EE20DF56061118C84A066705B622CDBF2EBD0FD890302AA8B8487A3F&Partner=400240) It was (is) a beautiful old church with the most incredible church organ I've ever seen. Anyway, this picture reminds me of all the Sundays I spent in church. If there was a parishioner who needed a little extra divine intervention of some sort, everyone would pray, and sometimes lay hands on the person, as if transmitting their own faith in God into this person who needed help or maybe just even a special blessing in an upcoming endeavor.
This is powerful imagery and symbolic of the hope (and faith) so many of us have put in Barack Obama.
It gave me Hopey Fever chills! Sundays in church with my Grandpa are memories that will always stay with me. Thanks for the warm feeling.
xoxo

For a great read, check out Ron Kaye's insightful commentary today on the mayor at RonKayeLA.com. Unlike most of us, Kaye actually knows the guy. But he's clearly not happy with him.

Never before has one empty suit disappointed so many so quickly.
Sorry Doll, yuo shivers and warm fuzzy feelings are just you going through the change.
That's about all the change you'll get from this low life Chicago Politician who has managed to sell kool-aid to so many.
