Villaraigosa's Latest Junket
It's been a while since the last Mayor Villaraigosa junket so there's one on the schedule next month. Mayor V's Flight Crew is taking off for...Israel! And paid for by the ratepayers of the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power!The Mayor will accompany Los Angeles City Councilmen Jack Weiss and Dennis Zine, Department of Water and Power General Manager David Naha, Water and Power Commission President Nick Patsaouras, Port of Los Angeles General Manager Geraldine Knatz, Harbor Commissioner Doug Krause, Los Angeles World Airports General Manager Gina Marie Lindsey and Airport Commission President Alan Rothenberg, The Simon Wiesenthal Center's Rabbi Marvin Hier and a number of business and civic leaders to "discuss" homeland security and make the LA River a "sister river" to a river in Tel Aviv. But it's okay, like the LA River the Yarkon River is also polluted.
Of course, there are no figures on how much this trip will cost.

What an embarrassement that these losers will be representing our city. Who the hell are they to be asking questions when they can't even fix the problems with Los Angeles. uh, Israel is a world leader in water reclamation, and anti terrorism. This is a return visit, as I recall, for Israeli dignitaries who were here a year or two ago and checked out our airports and ports with good suggestions. It's a landlocked desert which has created agricultural marvels. I don't know what all else it's about, better than another trip to Mexico, anyway if you ask me.

My Mayor went to Israel, and all I got was these 80 FAKE NEIGHBORHOOD CHACHKES.
Again, elected officials are planning a PAID VACATION that includes the Mayor’s anointed crew of general managers and commissioners in order to justify the expenses. The expenses will be split among Los Angeles World Airports, the Los Angeles DWP and the Port of Los Angeles. Hmmmm! This vacation will NOT accomplish anything here in L.A.
This time Jews want to see where Antonio's loyalties lie: with his Mexican homies, Reyes/Alarcon/Fuentes and Cardenas, the ones who want to invade them and tear down their prop values and quality of life for inner city people in high-density projects under AB212; OR with the liberal but not insanely leftist Jewish community who wants their single family and low density hoods. They've got century city too, for singles and empty nesters and who want it, but you can't destroy what makes the westside and west valley areas like Tarzana with projects, slums in the making.
I thought the City was broke. Why is Mayor Villa spending $$ we can't afford? Isn't the rent free mansion and car enough, we will continue to pay for his vacations too!

Gina Marie Lindsey returned home early from the trip this past weekend. Word is that the Mayor told one of his staffers that he wasn't impressed by her piss poor knowledge of airport security. That must have embarassed El Alcalde in front of the Israelis.
It woulda been even worse if her lap dog Jeff Fitch had tagged along. He oversees security at the airport, but knows nada about it.
Lindsey's management team is not only short on brainpower, it doesn't have much in the way of etchics either (see DMJM and Fentress panel scandals).
Villamugroso is the biggest con artist around ... did he REALLY need to go on this boondoggle with 29 staffers/friends in tow??? This is well-deserved by the moronic voters of L.A. ... shame on all you idiots who voted him in!
