A "Magic" Mayor?

No matter what you think of Zuma Dogg; he hears things and no not just the voices in Bill Rosendahl's head. I've been telling you that Richard Riordan and Eli Broad are planning to throw Tony under the bus; looking for that pro-developer mayoral candidate that can get elected as the antidote to the Coming City Superstorm and the force of Hurricane Zev. Everyone from Bob Hertzberg to Rick Caruso has been mentioned. The challenge for Mssrs. Riordan and Broad is that they need someone who 1) they can work with 2) is pro-development and 3) can overcome #1 and #2 enough to dull the pitchforks and torches coming from Sunland-Tujunga, Studio City, West LA, Granada Hills, CD14, et al.

According to Zuma, that someone could very well be the individual that wore a number 32 for 13 years:

ZUMA PREDICT NEXT MAYOR OF LOS ANGELES: AND SPEAKING OF LAKERS...looks like Los Angeles is going to have a former one for mayor in '09.

So while observant blogs play around with current Lakers who allegedly play around, visit Zuma Dogg's LA Daily Blog (and Mayor Sam too!) for more on who will replace Tony in the driver seat on Grandpa Dick's bus.

Higby, give it up. It isn't Zeve, or Rick, or Huggy, or anyone else. Antonio is the clear walk away winner.

Where is yuor loyalty to Walter Moore? Now y9ou are going to back Magic? A guy with more baggage than you could believe.

Where do yuo think he got HIV positive?

C'mon, man, get a life. You are getting like that fool Zuma.

I enjoy the nitwits who spin for the Mayor and other politicians on here.

First off, who is Zeve?

What is the word y9ou?

At what point did Mr. Higby 1) claim that Antonio would not win 2) declare support or Earvin Johnson 3) declare or un-declare support for Walter Moore?

I am of the mind that most of you clowns can not think.

Alas, we know why Los Angeles is in the mess that it is.

Magic is an uneducated dum-dum who can jump and shoot good.

He'll be Mayor when Zuma is Controller or no, City Attorney, since he and matt are such legal experts.

Zev will stay in his job forever -- he's paid more than Mayor with almost no scrutiny, and a bully pulpit to make everyone miserable, and little accountability for his own past contributing to today's traffic problems. Whether halting the Red Line subway 22 years ago, or working with Wasman to kill fed funding in the early 90's, or putting out there the one-way Pico- Olympic plan, then not saying one good word of support for the Mayor and Weiss who tried to make his simple-minded idea manageable: this is a guy with some good ideas, "a man of the people," but bad timing for execution.

I love how he makes Reyes, Cardenas and Alarcon squirm right where he is.

Magic Johnson for LA Mayor, PULLLEEEZE. That's the funniest thing I've read all day. In fact, I'd think he would be a worse mayor than the clown currently in office. I can see him acting like Ahnold, where he wants everyone to like him and will not do the necessary things to turn LA around. Unfortunately, I think the spin machine and the idiot residents of LA will help re-elect Tony Villar.

He will get all the Black vote and draw out tons of non-voters. Just like Arnold. Don't get smug Trujillo.

Why not? He is a businessman, knows the City, has paid plenty in taxes and knows a lot of people. Its time the management of the City went back to the blacks or the whites.

Please no more Villaraigosa Idiocracy.

One term was enough for this disaster of this man's administration. He turned on his constituency for the cause of illegals, claiming a right to the "American Dream" for them while doing all he could to take everything "American" out of it.

Former supporter for CM in CD-14 (but not for Mayor, abandoning the CD commitment/promise he made was the preview to more lies).

Say what you want but Magic sounds good to many. He's smart and has developed areas that were abandoned and cares about the people. Anyone but Villaraigosa, and speaking of the gang banger Mayor does anyone know if his divorce was ever final>? Did Corina get to get back her name? What a coward man Villaraigosa is to have to kept his wife's name after he humiliated her in public with the kids. Who is he banging these days? WE all know he can't keep his pants zipped no matter what.

Huhhh?

Doesn't anyone remember the painful and grotesquely awkward ordeal that was the Magic Johnson late night TV show? Someone decided he was the next Montel Williams a few years back and put him on TV with a band, top-flight guests, and canned monologue.

It HURT to watch it. It was like having your fingernails pulled out. And you could tell Magic KNEW he stunk.

He couldn't get a complete sentence out even with cue cards. He didn't know the first thing about any subject being discussed, and he mumbled incoherent gibberish non-stop to fill time (at least Tony can usually read his note cards).

No one who lived through that would ever take such an assinine rumor seriously.

But then Zuma Bee-yotch also predicted Alvin "DOH" Parra was going to give Huizar a run to his money.

ZD needs to understand there are people out there who purposely run idiotic shit up his flagpole just to prove the doofus will be stupid enough to repeat it. It marginalizes him in the event he ever actually does stumble onto something that could hurt someone downtown.

They can just say - OH, well that was ZD that put that out. Remember him, he's the capital "T" tool that suggested Magic Johnson could run for mayor (and then they howl with side-splitting laugher).

Read a newspaper once in awhile, dude - or was that message some kind of set-up?

Look, I think Tony V. is a scuzz-bucket supreme, but in the same message you're touting Magic Johnson as a good option to Villar-less-raigosa, you launch into a "can't keep his pants zipped" tirade against him?

For real? What are you 15 years old?

You can't EVEN remember, or maybe never heard what brought down Magic Johnson's sports career?

Do you think he became HIV positive by KEEPING his pants zipped? Or, maybe just from sitting on the public toilets at the Fabulous Forum?

Just because the people helping Magic unzip his pants never made the cover of Los Angeles magazine?

The OCTOBER SURPRISE will be that no one of any stature will run against Villaraigosa, and when you consider his "stature" that's really saying something. AV will, unfortunately, waltz to a landslide. That's not to say there won't be tons of dirt thrown at him - but no one will care.

And no, Wacko Walter doesn't "count" as someone of stature (as evidenced by his brief stint as a "economist" here, when he kept f-ing up the numbers he was counting to try and prove things and having to re-post and say "oops, I divided that wrong!"

What a goof. If he finally did move to Idaho and bought a whole damn town, they still wouldn't let him be mayor.

1:19 - Actually, Villar will be buried under the landslide.

10:48,
Couldn't agree more about the TV debacle. It was painfully uncomfortable.

BUT KEEP THIS IN MIND: The person who told me this, isn't someone who I know through activism. It isn't someone trying to set me up. Someone I know from outside the City Hall life...a "friend", if you will. They happen to have a job that gives them some insight.

Whether it happens, or not will remain to be seen. But the only reason any of this has any weight with me is BECAUSE of who told me.

Again, we'll see whether it happens, but I can 100% assure you, it ain't a set-up to get me to post B.S.

ZD needs to understand there are people out there who purposely run idiotic shit up his flagpole just to prove the doofus will be stupid enough to repeat it. It marginalizes him in the event he ever actually does stumble onto something that could hurt someone downtown.

I didn't realize that Chick wore number 32. Of course this is what she really wants....she can't stand a day to go by when her name is not in the newspaper saving the City from the ravages and savages that would take advantage of our good nature. The problem is -- no one has ever figured out how much she has spent on independent auditors? What results have come from all these audits? Have things improved or are these just more reports sitting on a shelf collecting dust...but served their purpose of keeping the Chick woman in the spotlight. I wouldnt' be at all surprised if she finds something similar to her "pay to play" scheme that undid Hahn to use against Antonio to propel her into the Mayors positon next year. Quite the drama, eh?
