DON QUIXOTE'S" salient observations about the "LAS VILLAS PROJECT"

Much has been posted here regarding the controversal "Las Villas Project" in Lincoln Heights. But if one is to form a opinion on this project, then lets base our opinion on local voices.

"DON QUIXOTE" is a local who post these thoughts,

"As a former student of Lincoln High and from the old neighborhood, family goes back to the 30's in LH's I am disgusted with this project and the people who are shoving it up the ass of the community.

Every school day thousands of students will walk right by the bar and video arcade, there will be unsavory characters hanging around the bar drinking beer waiting for school to get out.Little Flower convent and orphanage, which has been a part of the community for decades is located right above on Thomas St. and will be impacted by the noise and swearing and fighting and car noise of all the drunks coming and going.

Speaking of parking, where's this going to happen? You know where, all over the surrounding streets!Another poster was correct when stating that if a meeting place is needed for community affairs then go to the San Antonio Winery, or why not spend some money to fix up the Boys and Girls Club? It once was the pride of Lincoln Heights and salvaged many young lives but now it's been mismanaged by politicians and crony's and has turned into a welfare cheese distribution location and is falling apart at the seams.

No bar and video at the old Dupont/Rose Eye care location!Think of the kids and the neighborhood, are you people nuts!?dq"

And as a "Jim Healy Fan" I'm sure he would tell the likes of Councilman Ed Reyes and the Lincoln Heights Neighborhood Council to go "AH, BLOW IT OUT" in regards to this CRA financed scam.

great comment dq . . . .

I am also disgusted by the way our local politicians are using Lincoln Heights as a dumping ground for projects nobody wants
WITHIN the community. I am all for economic development, but why don't they start by getting all those slum lords who own all
the dilapidated buildings on Broadway to start pumping money back into the community. Everyone knows they have been pumping cash out for years.

I wonder what Don Quixote's opinion is on old cholos who glamorize the gang lifestyle to the young kids he is so concerned about.

Some of the kids who walk by the "La Villa Projects" "savory characters" will go home to parent and grand-parents, who tell mythical stories about "back in the day" when they hung out with EME carnales.

I wish we could educate the old cholos who unfortunately contine to pass on the "varrio" mentality to the younger kids.

(you remember come on u member)

Thanks RS CD14, and I hope everyone in LA will realize that this situation in LH's is not just somebody Else's problem but a bad example of what is happening in every area of LA.
We must make these so called leaders be responsible to the community that elected them and not just be glad handers and mouthpieces for greedy developers, speculators, and city hall crony's that they hope will line their pockets and further their political careers somewhere else.

They must be made to listen to the people, all the people.
And if they don't respond to the community's needs and desire's then they should be outed and thrown out on their collective ass's, pronto!

Power to the people!

I surely think all of you people must be right. After all it is clear for all to see what a fine job people around here have done. It`s not like your rugrats are getting pregnent in their early teens, or in a gang and getting shot over spraying their names on buildings they will never own. We all know that the drop out rate at Lincoln High is at near zero. Yes I must say that with the fine job you all have done so far, chasing a respected and hard working person out of the area. You certianaly don`t need worry about how your children will turn out. And what fine christan morals you have, especially that small peckered fat man who had threatened my 77 year old mother at last weeks neighborhood counsil meeting. That is the kind of people that you derserve. Now why don`t you all just run down to the animal shelter and drown some little puppies, you no-dicked chicken shit.
