We made this list last year; so its time once again to list the Dumbest Moves of the Year. Here, in not necessarily any particular order is the top ten:
- Home Depot's lame, half assed astro-turfing in Sunland-Tujunga.
- Jan Perry trying to ban fast food in South Central.
- Rocky Delgadillo and his wife's reported inability to register and insure their cars, show up on warrants and use staffers for personal errands.
- Politicians wasting water.
- The Tennie Pierce settlement.
- Antonio banging Mithala.
- Mayor Sam falling for trick by AV spinners on story of Antonio, Jr. drinking on the beach.
- Pomona City Attorney Arnold Alavarez-Glassman sending a cease and desist letter to The Foothill Cities Blog.
- Jamie Lynn Spears getting herself knocked up at the age of 16.
- Dennis Zine showing up the Gay Parade in full leather attire.

He was wrong on the Mayor dating the Korean lady (Excuse me...I actually CALLED INTO RADIO ON -- when all the talk show hosts were naming names...to say NO OTHER NAMES WOULD COME OUT. The mayor's office even thanked me in appreciation over it! HOWEVER...when names were being bantied about, I provided some info as to the mayoral connection. Meanwhile, I'm not even sure exactly who you mean, cause you didn't give her name...but I think I know who you mean...I don't think the mayor wants THAT name coming up. (The only thing more embarassing than his PERSONAL relataions are his professional ones.)
He was wrong on Michael Hunt dressing like a Klannsmen
(How could I POSSIBLY be wrong about something SOMEONE ELSE does??? By the way, I said I was against his wearing of the attire. Is that was I was wrong about?)
He was wrong to wear a mask in a pubic building (No, when I wore the Gene Simmons mask, I was RIGHT. City Attorney told me so, in person. AGAIN...THE GENE SIMMONS MASK IS "IN". Ask Rocky Delgadilldo.)

(Kinda vauge. Wrong on affordable housing? Can you be more specific.
I say the city is in violation of the affordable housing policy. And uses affordable housing in a very profitable way. "He was wrong on affordable housing" is too vauge, anyway...but even people at City Hall admit the affordable housing policy needs work. (Hello, LA Housing Authority...DA investigation...Garcetti addressed the issue on camera on TV 35...But I'm "wrong on affordable housing.")

When thinking of "Tem Dumbest Moves of 2007" Jim Alger's "Do It Center" hair brain scheme where he wanted money to get kicked back to his NC congress coffers. And of course getting kicked off NC altogether for other "Dumb Move" reasons.
So although the world will carry on without missing a beat, or anyone really noticing for that matter, the demise of Jim Alger on this blog and on NC has to be on of the "Ten Dumbest Moves".

City Attorney Works Legal Loophole, DZ today
Rocky's got several legal defense funds going, getting money from those with business with him and the city, one fund just to cover possible litigation involving his wife's driving and use of city employees for babysitting.
What gets me is, didn't the guy ever look into his own glove compartment for the insurance check in case he got pulled over? Guess not, just left it to the wife and gallantly blamed her for driving without for a year.
On top of that if he hadn't made such a big stink about Paris Hilton for political gain, all this may have continued to go unnoticed. Memo to pols: if the wife is driving without a license or insurance and has an outstanding warrant for her arrest, shut up.
Of course, it is hard to read and post anything here when Sam and his mates insist that the idiot of the blog is really its idiot savant oracle. Zuma and his motley mates even manage to trump "cheerfully idiotic" Rocky any day.

1. Jill Stewart kicking sand in all the other journo's faces when she hired our boy ZD.
2. Hunt producing the 'costume of the year in City Hall'.
3. Barack conceding ALL HIS SUPPORT to Hillary. (oh, he didn't do that yet?)
4. anyone who changed tungsten bulbs to CFL.
5. anyone who conserved water in a meaningful way.
6. anyone who deliberately paid more for organic and/or put back something from China.
7. Zuma Dogg recharging the batteries for another big run.
8. Matt Dowd hiring us, a complete team of spinners ready to take on any issue in the City.
9. Mayor Sam when he lets JM put up the pictures on the blog.

That's something to be proud of. Zuma Dogg will not be a complete loser as long as Matt Dowd is around to one up him in that category.

915 good point. The only Council people I can say who most folks don't find absolute fools are probably Bill, Wendy and maybe Eric. I think most of the rest are viewed as clowns (LaBonge, Perry, Hahn, Bernie, Zine), incompetents (Reyes, Grieg, Wesson), or crooks (Alarcon, Cardenas, Huizar, Weiss).
I do not work for the Mayor or anyone else. I find this Zuma Dogg guy to be quite the mental case. As well as the people he is sparring with. Unless it as the blogger said he is pretending to battle himself. Who is he?

The best moves of the year is Garcetti and Laura Chick campaigning in Los Angeles for Obama. LATINOS FOR OBAMA. Funny Antonio hasn't brought Hillary over to the Eastside. If she is courting the Latino vote you should ask yourself why not? Because the Eastside does not like our Mayor and word all over the district is he and Hillary will be booed to kingdom come if he ever thinks of taking her to the latinos on that side of the city. 10:47, yes, I'm extremely happily married, self-employed, have two little kids and my beautiful wife is 20 years younger than me. Took a while to get to this stage, but there is joy in the journey...
Mayor Sam if she is a woman with class and respect she knows a good man when she sees him. AND its not always about looks its about the character inside the man not outside. So many of my friends have found the best guys who may not look like Brad Pitt but are the most charming and wonderful people on earth.
How does zuma sign up for those free lunches?
Hiding beneath a hat and sunglasses, he might pass for a mentally challenged high school student. There are plenty of them around.
Or what about a job as a cafeteria worker? Then he could work only four hours a day, get health benefits and free lunches. (They'd have to fumigate him and the hat first.)

Hey, Sam, there's the ticket: I've known lots of older or heavier guys who've hooked up with cute Latinas who need a green card or resident status. Of course, after they get their citizenship, who knows...that gives you plenty of time to shape up, though.

Thanks Mayor for putting Home Depot on your list! They certainly deserve it. I have a feeling that their lawsuit against the City will wind up on your 2008 list as well.
Mayor Sam, my advice is go slow. Build the friendship, be authentic - enjoy each others company - don't pressure yourself or her - over time, you will know what to do.
