LOS ANGELES CITY ATTORNEY ROCKY DELGADILLO SECURES RULING IN FAVOR OF LIVING WAGE FOR LAX AREA HOTEL WORKERS...Court of Appeal Upholds City’s Enhancement Zone Ordinance
LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo today
announced his office has successfully defended the City’s Enhancement Zone Ordinance.

“I am pleased to report that the California Court of Appeal today, in a published opinion, ruled for the City and upheld the City’s
Enhancement Zone Ordinance,” said City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo.
“This decision is a win for the workers who deserve a living wage,
and for the hotels who will benefit from increased investment in the neighborhood and in worker training.”

In February, the City of Los Angeles enacted the Enhancement Zone ordinance to ensure a living wage for workers in Hotels along Century Boulevard adjacent to the Los Angeles International Airport and provide tangible benefits to the surrounding businesses in the neighborhood. In May, the Los Angeles Superior Court had ruled in favor of the hotel owners challenging the ordinance, enjoining the City from moving forward with enactment.

Joining with Unite Here Local 11, the City Attorney’s Office filed a
petition for review with the Court of Appeal. The Court today granted
the City’s Appeal and held that the Enhancement Zone Ordinance was
sufficiently different from the repealed Living Wage Ordinance due to new and different features, including addressing objections expressed by the hotels and business community during negotiations with the City.

Let me be the first to express my emotional love for this idiot: I firmly believe that his cartoon image is an absolute classic, primarily for his very unique lines; "I'm your DA", "the people have voted", "I'm here to clean up Dodge", and "look at my my new suit". Yea, yea, yea, book him Danno.

Hey, One Bill Gil:

Have you ever MET Rocky Delgadillo?

The guy you described sounds more like Steve Cooley.

Rumor has it that Rocky never met a guilty developer.

By the way, a jury just brought back a judgment for over $15,000,000 against the city which Rocky could have settled much cheaper. Rocky offered $50,000.00.

Wonder where he'll be working when he is out of office???
