The Los Angeles City Council today dealt a final blow to Home Depot's high-stakes bid to secure an over-the-counter permit for a new store in Sunland-Tujunga, disregarding a lobbying blitz waged by the company over the last two weeks...

Old news, already discussed; guess that's what happens when you're away fishing. Bigger news: did you hear Reggie the Gator made all the evening news shows, and reporters are even trying to find him a g.f. to keep him home on the ranch? This really IS a summer of love.

Sam the Sham and The Pharaohs would fill in admirably for the present LA City Council. No loss of brain power here and instead of asholes walking up to the mic, Wooly Bully, and Li'l Red Riding Hood would be blasted to those in the audience seats.

But, when the vote was about to be taken, Garcetti called for public comment in Van Nuys, where ZD and his pally/mate Matt Dowd had been wasting time all day.
Silence.
The entire audience in LA let out a sigh of collective relief; they had just been granted four minutes of peace from the good Lord.
IN all fairness, Garcetti could have had the Sergeant at Arms check the bathroom stalls, but no, he acted alertly and moved on to the vote.

I think we get enough gas from the horseshoe without the audience chipping in.

First time in my life -- and I'mk not kidding -- that I ever achieved a real respect for the UTLA/teachers.
NOT ONE of them, in any grade from K to 12, would allow any punk to talk to them the way zuma and his b.f matt do to the Council all the time, and I felt for Jan Perry today. To be "called out" by homeless, illiterate bums, who think they have "free speech" backing up their nasty asses.
Hey, teachers, come out against these lowlifes who are presuming to TEACH YOU HOW TO TEACH AND BEHAVE with OUR KIDS.
WHY won't the Council demand the same rights any teacher or private citizen would? Some ultra-liberal judge, or their own "liberal guilt voices?"

Reggie the Al is running round in his new cage in Tujunga, the one that used to be Kmart (where the entire second floor was taken out and which nobody knows even tho its GONE and makes it a friggin PROJECT from long ago!) and that Tony Card coulda hanged hisself from in the way he did at the 245 hearing. But that ceiling is gone! The one that used to be inside teh building what Tony the Card and ever-absent Dick A. want to be a Home Depot, so they can keep they pockets filled.
