Delgadillo Punishes Property Owner Rather Than Gangs?!
I'm hoping I've somehow misinterpreted a story in the L.A. Times. Read it yourself and tell me. Here's the link: L.A. Times.
The gist of it is: whenever gangs commit crimes near a building, or operate out of it, the City Attorney, rather than going after the criminals themselves, sues the landlord, saying the landlord should somehow stop the crime. Yeah, right! And get this: when the landlord fails to somehow magically make crime disappear, Delgadillo slaps a lien against the property, then forecloses.
Hey, here's an idea, Rocky: why don't you work with the police, the District Attorney and the Sheriff to arrest, prosecute and imprison the criminals. You say it's hard to do? Well, with all due respect, if it's hard for you to do it with the resources of law enforcement, how do you expect the landlord to evict gangs?
Let's not use the "deep pocket" theory of responsibility, i.e., the nearest "deep pocket" is responsible for correcting any social ill. Instead, let's have our law enforcement agencies enforce the law.

Rocky seems to be the only one who is really getting those damn gang bangers where it hurts.
Typical local media idiots. Channel 7 just showed an animal truck going down the car pool lane. the helicopter showed the truck racing. I thought it was a pursuit but NO it was REGGIE who finally got caught and headed to LA Zoo. Hahn will have a press conf. This is what local media thinks is a high priority and our idiot council people. Wonder if REGGIE will be with all the politicans standing at press conf.

Delgadilo's going after the owners because they know about and condone the criminal activity being perpetrated by te gangs. The owners are told what steps they can take the reduce this activity, and if they fail to do so, then Delgadilo will go after them. These arent' just innocent, helpless landlords. And besides, there are other people who have to live in these buildings with their kids. How safe can they feel with gang scum running the show? Someone had to do something.

You must be kidding, right?
The city council and state legislature have made it impossible to evict anyone, much less a gang-banger. Even if they are evicted, gang-bangers and their friends will terrorize the apartment building until no tenants want to move there and the landlord goes bankrupt.
But people like you want to blame the person who has money (even though most landlords are middle class people), and be politically correct by not offending ethnic groups who happened to be over-represented in gangs.
It's people like you who are ruining L.A.

You never heard of the landlord SWAT team?
"You want to sell drugs out of my house?, We'll take you down..."

Cops can't do that anymore. So says Bratton, the Mayor and the Police commission

So are you defending landlords who allow gang thugs to gang bang and terrorize the innocent people in a neighborhood?
Should we just politely ask over and over and over again the landlord to evict the gang thugs or should we take action and knock the landlord if he or she fails to protect the local neighborhood by tossing the bangers onto the street?
Whose side are you on anyway?
And spare us the crap about "be politically correct by not offending ethnic groups who happened to be over-represented in gangs."
What's that supposed to mean? Are you saying Delgadilo isn't going after gangs since they are mostly Latino? If you're saying that then you obviously have been living in a cave for the last several years or are delusional. That's a laugh.

Rocky has it right. There are tons of apts. complexes throughout LA where gang bangers and their families live. Other tenants are terrified of them. Some buildings they have taken over like the one in South LA taken by Crips to sell drugs. Rocky got rid of that entire building. Many landlords are guilty of renting to illegals and families who have gang banger sons. Most apts. buildings now have a requirement that if you are a gang member or a family member you can get evicted. Evict their sorry asses and the hardworking families can live in peace. Eventually these loser gang bangers will have to go someplace else to live and it won't be in LA.
THANKS ROCKY, THANKS ROCKY THANKS ROCKY
