Public Comment for Wednesday

Here is a new feature we'll run from time to time. You can post comments on this article about any topic you want. Lets get a good discussion going. I'll toss out some fun or maybe meaningless story, fact or andecdote. Then you guys can blog away dum dums.

The blog Franklin Avenue asks the question who is their namesake street named for? Is it Benjamin Franklin, Franklin Roosevelt or someone else?

I say none of them. Of course it was named for Franklin Cover, the actor who played the lovable honky Tom Willis on TV's The Jeffersons.

Shiver me timbers! Methinks today oughter be a national holiday, mayhap. For today is the birthing day of indeed, the premier American - mayhap the greatest American who ever lived!

Author, diplomat, economist, inventor, journalist, musician & composer, philosopher, printer, postmaster, scientist, and statesman; methinks mayhap we must repair to the nearest tavern and toast this greatest of Americans!

'Twould be his 301st today, so hoist a glass or schooner in his honor!

To Benjamin Franklin!
