Its amazing how much adrenalin you can get when you're really pissed off. That's what people around LA are feeling for the Clowncil members. This ruling is giving us much more incentive to go after their butts.

BOARD BANS SIGNING OF SCHOOLS BILL AT L.A. CAMPUS...Times Staff Writers
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa won't be able to get on campus during school hours to sign legislation giving him substantial authority over the city's public schools.
On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Unified School District board — which opposed the legislation and is expected to file a lawsuit over it — directed staff to keep the signing ceremony off school grounds during the school week. The mayor and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger had planned to stage the event at Roosevelt High School in Boyle Heights.
The Roosevelt principal is very uncomfortable about the safety of kids and protecting the students during an event of this magnitude," said school board President Marlene Canter.

What the judges basically said is if you're sneaky enough to put language its ok.
Daily News...the ballot title need not be the `most accurate,' `most comprehensive,' or `fairest' that a skilled wordsmith might imagine," the judges wrote in their opinion....
..the original ballot language drafted by City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo's office had specifically said that Proposition R would lengthen term limits to three terms, however the council rewrote the language to say the measure would "change council member term limits to three terms." Despite early opposition, Delgadillo's office is now representing the city in court and has argued that the court should defer to the council's choice of language.

My solution would be a Villagrossa recall...it only takes 250,000 signatures on the petition. Hal Netkin (LA Watchdog) has started one, but I don't know how many signatures he has.

You know why Antonio wanted to hold the signing at Roosevelt? Not only did he drop out of this school and then was stereotypically helped by the benevolent white guy, this is the site of his first and only business venture. He wants to bring Arnold - that pro business Republican - to his old stomping gorunds where Tony Villar had an excellent business as the local drug pusher. They're supposed to be CLOSER to the ground level, CHANNELS for the vote of the people, and (some, anyway), immediately wanted to cork the channel.
Because their think they're SMARTER than their stakeholders (yes, they do), because they KNOW theire stakeholders aren't ON BOARD with the NCs yet.
It's not a representative democracy when the NCs hide from their stakeholders, and try to avoid getting booted out by just not doing a outreach. Until the NCs represent something like even a large minority (that ain't 1 percent) of the people, they don't get to speak FOR them.

I heard Fabio Nunez, State Assemlymember, and castmember of Mayor V's "muppets allies" i trying to have the "Public Access" channels REMOVED from you local cable outlets like Time Warner.
"Without the local Public Access channels, there would then be ZERO reason to have cable, as opposed to superior 'satellite', regarding programming", said Public Advocate Zuma Dogg on his Mayor Sam's Blog posting.

If you listened to your own constituents you would know the people who elected them into office, who they are supposed to be representing are outraged that city money for the community itself is constantly being diverted away from those it is allocated to help.
Don't worry though, Wendy Greuel, Jack Weiss and Bill Rosendahl have been addressed by me this week, as well, and they are not hispanic.
I know you are fighting to protect the public perception of shady, corrupt politicians, but, I hate to break it to you, just because someone is of a certain cultural background, doesn't mean they are represent the best interests of "their people" -- and it doesn't mean they are not as shady and corrupt as every other shady and corrupt politician, of there are are too many of ALL cultural backgrounds. It's a POLITICIAN problem, not a CULTURAL BACKGROUND problem. So when I am attacking a politician, in this case, it's because allocated money isn't naking it to the communities it is intended for. But go watch Billy Madison for that scene with the guy from "West Wing" where he loses the "Ethics Challenge" against Zuma Dogg, I mean Sandler.

NC Congress Hosts General Assembly Saturday:
Garcetti Featured on Why NCs were Bypassed
Open invitation: The main reason Neighborhood Councils are upset about
the proposed billion dollar affordable housing bond issue is that while
numerous powerful interests were invited to draft and vet the proposal,
the only group the City Charter mandates the city consult with –
Neighborhood Councils - was completely ignored.
To deal with this issue, City Council President Eric Garcetti has agreed
to come to the LA NC Congress’ first ever General Assembly. He will
discuss with NCs how to make certain NC's will be included in future
bond issues and how they can be involved with this bond issue should
it pass.
After the General Assembly, there will be breakout sessions of the first
committees being organized by LANCC – Arts and Culture, Planning and Land
Use and Transportation.

The Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils will be holding the Neighborhood Council Forum in the Faculty Center at Los Angeles City College (on Vermont Ave., 1 Block north of Melrose in East Hollywood) on Saturday, September 16th from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm.
As of now, Measure R (Term Limits and Ethics) will be on the November ballot.
We will have City Council President Eric Garcetti, Councilwoman Janice Hahn, and Jason Lyon from the Silver Lake NC on hand Saturday to present their views on Measure R and other matters.
