Unlock Gridlock

Perhaps you read the article in the L.A. Times about gridlock in West L.A.

Want to know what really causes gridlock, and how to fix it?

In short, it results from ever-increasing population density, rent control, and the non-portability of Proposition 13.

Read all about it: Unlock Gridlock

Remember how great the traffic was when the illegals marched. They're the problem. If we get rid of them, we get rid of the problem.

Mayor Flexes Muscle With School Board
With passage of the bill to increase his role in the district virtually certain, Villaraigosa threatens to fire any superintendent hired without his OK.

Typical asshole Antonio trying to dictate. I believe that if LAUSD files a lawsuit then the bill will be tied up in court and Antonio can't do shit. I hope the LAUSD does hire a new superintendent and shows them up Antonio's ass.

Must be a day of confliction at the P.R. Firm on Spring Street. After all you paste picture of your "prodical son" and "policy hyna" Gloria Romero on the front of "press release". "BOSS POLLO" then stakes his claim to "HEADMASTER POLLORAIGOSA" title by waving the ruler to the Romer and company daring them to name new Sup. without his decree. Yet the day before,You scribes deviated from the norm by blasting the "FAVOR LADEN" AB 1381. you follow that today by publishing the puffy, pandering comments of the weak knee politicians who were afraid to buck "BOSS POLLO". So in light of your chosen one's performance ? Is thbe honeymoon over ? After all, Scribe Hymon is busy today with stories on Boss POLLO, ROCKY spat and lawsuit being file against the ETHICS, err, TERM EXTENTION ballot measure. All the work you did in getiing POLLORAIGOSA to the Third Floor, articles on Pacheco/Lopez money matters, Hahn's Pay to Play schemes aside. Is The "BOSS POLLO" that is emerging, the one you envision when you lock your eyes on that smile ?

LA Slimes are a bunch of lazy ass tabloid reporters. That's why they're losing tons of readers. They kiss ass to Antonio and are the most bias reporting I have ever seen from a newspaper.

Daily News at least reports the opponents in detail quotes.
...The two Democrats who opposed the measure were Sen. Dean Florez, D-Bakersfield, and Sen. Jackie Speier, D-San Mateo. Both said they were concerned that the bill would set a precedent in other California cities, noting that Fresno Mayor Alan Autry sought school control several years ago and was rejected.

They also said they did not believe that the bill would improve the quality of education in the district, and thought the decision was better left to Angelenos.

"It really makes me very uncomfortable to have all the members of this Legislature that do not represent Los Angeles making this decision," Speier said. "We do not work and live and send our kids to the schools in L.A., and we don't know what should or should not be happening there."

Sen. Tom McClintock, R-Thousand Oaks, another opponent, said the bill would create more bureaucracy in a district already overburdened by red tape.

"The L.A. Unified School District is an absolute mess," McClintock said. "I don't see how this bill improves the situation. In fact, I believe it may actually cause further deterioration of that failing system."

Who are the retards on this blog? Why does a substantive topic such as traffic devolve into an irrelevant pissing match in exactly one post?

This was a substantive post, and I appreciate Mr. Moore's insights.

I want to bring this thread away from a pissing match and back to the issue at hand by offering this:

My response to Walter Moore's essay. It's long, but worth your time.
