City Council Solves Sister City Crisis
The People's Daily Online reports that "Beirut, capital city of Lebanon, would be added as a sister city to Los Angeles under a plan approved Friday by a City Council committee. . . ." "Councilman Dennis Zine, who is of Lebanese descent, introduced a motion last August asking that Beirut be added as a sister city, noting the large Lebanese community living in Los Angeles."
Coming soon: Belfast will be added as L.A.'s second cousin, once removed.
