GOP Blogs
Yesterday the Capitol Weekly ran a story entitled "The rise of the blogs: How the GOP uses the Web to organize" spotlighting Jon Fleischman's FlashReport. While we recognize that our readership leans much further left than right, even though Sam is a devout Republican and we are a member of the Bear Flag League mentioned in the above story, you all still come here daily for recent political developments. Leaving the partisan angles out for a moment, this article is a must read about the influence of such blogs as this one and others in the political fray.
While they are correct in noting that the right has done a much better job of organizing and utilizing the blogosphere than the left, balance is a key to most blog's success. Just look at Martini Republic's views (left) vs. Walter Moore's (right) which are often posted here. Balance is key, and the more voices the merrier.
Happy Blogging!

I don't think that the blogosphere truly moves a lot of votes, mostly because people who are here are here to learn more about what they already believe. But one place where it does matter is the way it moves other media. Nobody was even talking in terms of "news cycles" before the 2003 recall.

In your dreams Westsider. Once you get it in your blood - it's there.
That is why all politicians, staffers, activists, lobbyists, etc. should always accept defeat graciously, embrace the people who opposed them and forget about the election because you will continue to see the same old faces around forever.
No sense being mad at everyone.
Villaraigosa's staff hate my guts. They will be sorry for that someday. I don't think anyone expected Villaraigosa's staff to treat voters that way and they are all in for big trouble later. This will only hurt them. I remember 4 years ago when Antonio was bashing Hahn for cutting people off and now his staff is ten times more vindictive. Pompous asses...
I love the blogs.
