Open Thread For Thursday

On this day in 1810, the United States annexed the former Spanish colony of West Florida. A hurricane soon followed and FEMA was late in responding. OK, I made up the FEMA part, but the annexation part did take place.

A year ago we were blogging about Pay to Play with the City Pension and Career Coach Chick

HUIZAR's new big contribution numbers are up for CD14 campaign. Here's what you REALLY need to know. . .

Max. contributions from nearly 100 LAWYERS AND LAW FIRMS (nearly ALL most from OUTSIDE the district).

Max contributions from NEARLY 100
Builders, DEVELOPERS, engineering firms, architects, property management firms, etc. etc. (most from outside the district)

It should be abundantly clear to anyone watching what this is about, and what it's payback for (and pay AHEAD for).

OH, so sorry to short-change you, Jose, I miscounted. There were 2 more pages, make that:

Max contributions from MORE THAN 100 Builders, DEVELOPERS, engineering firms, architects, property management firms, etc.. . .

I hope you have a BIG ledger to keep track of ALL the variances and permits and special adjustments these bottom feeders people are going to require of you, while you're "protecting open space on the Eastside" (ha!)

What is it they're going to be asking you for if you make city council, Huizar? Are they aggressively pursuing contracts to build TREES and GRASS and BARE HILLSIDES for the city (with man-made materials, of course).

Fool us ONCE, shame on Antonio. Fool us TWICE, shame on CD14!
