Coro: Is Culver City Logical?

Many of you are probably familiar with Coro, the public affairs training organization. Coro has been around for over 50 years and its alumni list is long and distinguished.

That's why I got notice of an upcoming Coro program today (Part of the Coro program is doing things on the fly), as a Coro alum myself, I was glad to share the information with you. (Thanks to our friend Edward Headington for sharing the info.)

The Coro Fellows Program in Public Affairs Class of ‘05/06 will make a one-hour presentation on the Logic of Culver City. The fellows will base their presentation on street surveys, interviews of prominent community figures, and other observations conducted over a short period of time.

The presentation will provide a snapshot of the Culver City community that the fellows will use to illuminate the connection between past influences and future trends, as well as the lessons Culver City has to offer other communities. The bulk of the presentation will highlight current information including demographics, economics, its system of governance, the prevalence of associational groups, and the community’s involvement in public life.

The event is Wednesday, September 14, 2005, 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Culver City Unified School District, 4034 Irving Place, Culver City, CA, 90232 (parking available on site).

That list of Coro alums you link to is crap. A good list would include Diane Feinstein, Phil Angelides, Alex Padilla, etc.

Coro is like Skull & Bones. Everyone important did it, no one talks about it.
