Mayor Sam Tidbits
Just for fun, here is some trivia about our beloved Mayor Sam Yorty.
Mayor Sam appeared on the 10 September 1961 broadcast of "What's My Line." However, he signed in as "Mr. X" because even though some of the panel might have recognized his name, they probably would have never seen his face since most of the panelists lived in New York. However, Art Linkletter did recognize him and voluntarily disqualified himself.
Mayor Sam played himself in an episode of "Here's Lucy" in 1972.
He has made appearances on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In" and "The Tonight Show starrring Johnny Carson."
He even played the role of a Mayor in a 1982 episode of "CHiPS," about a year after his last (losing) run for Mayor of Los Angeles.
Of course, Mayor Sam hosted his own local talk show, which was eventually cancelled in favor of "Hee Haw."
In 1997, a survey of urban historians and political scientists conducted by Melvin Holli at the University of Illinois at Chicago rated Yorty the third worst U.S. big-city mayor since 1960.
That's why we love him so!

Runs the 3rd worst political blog around, too. A so-called conservative backing a socialist tax-and-spend liberal.
That's psychotic!

Yo, 6:00 p.m. -- Seems like schizophrenic might be a better term.

Nope, anybody who backs a socialist liberal is psychotic, whether they're "schizo" or not!

Yup, you gotta love Mayor Travellin Sam.

Mayor Sam you are now sinking to juvenile level. I heard from 4 people who say they use to visit here daily but won't waste their time anymore. You've lost it! Get back to business.

Mayor Sam,
Will you lose all credibility when the pending suit comes out under the new federal Internet/privacy laws where you are forced to reveal your identity - and you turn out to be Dan Shallman?
Will your brother ever get political work again?
You know, any smart lawyer can take blogger.com to court and get an injunction for them to reveal YOUR identity, because of all the libel you post here (NOT just against public/political figures).
It is really out of your control.
The gig is up Dan.

Mayor Sam,
Why don't you start a dating service here, online. It would serve all of the City of Los Angeles and catering to upscale political clients in City Hall...good idea, right?
Mayor Sam said:
Dating service. That's not a bad idea. I may do it.

Mayor Sam,
You should seriously consider it, many bloggers are probably single, educated, or atleast trying to get an education, and has a job. I was the one that suggested the dating service, and I was not joking, it would bring some extra hits to this site even though it already gets many hits.
Good Luck and best wishes,
Maura
