Is Antonio Really This Stupid?
This morning, Doug McIntyre of KABC Radio hosted all six major candidates for an hour of discussion. McIntyre who is an articulate and thoughtful commentator really pressed the case of the effect unchecked illegal immigration has on the city, to which all of the candidates (except Walter Moore) ducked dealing with the issue.
However, Antonio probably made the dumbest remark when McIntyre was discussing the impact of illegal immigration on crime. Tony Villar said that illegal immigration has nothing to do with gang crime and the 18th street gang (most of whom's members are in the country without documentation). He said to even suggest such is inflammatory.
Incidentally, Tony is way ahead in a recent poll. Of course that poll is our poll asking who the dumbest council member is. He's even putting Tom LaBonge - the George Bush of the LA City Council - to shame.

Tony V's counting on the 18th Street's endorsement in this election -- they're having a candidate (singular) forum, tonight.

Jesus Christ - MEAT and Sacramento Nighties must LIVE on this blog. No sooner had I posted this article, all I did was take two minutes to read a news story on Yahoo, came back and we had already two comments.
But I am not complaining. Sac Nighties and MEAT keep you people going so good for them.

Somebody already said on this blog - he doesn't count in the MS poll, he's not really on the council.

"Is Antonio Really This Stupid?" If you've gotta ask, you've never met the man. He's a walking bumper sticker.

Maybe that is why Tony is getting more votes in the poll right now.

Nah, I don't think he's any more stupid than most on the council -- he's just made more enemies in a shorter period of time.

"Partal list" always means that's all we have now -- but we're working on it, not we just got tired of typing.

Tony V. wouldn't have so many votes on the Mayor Sam poll, but every time Greig Smith gets another one -- he STEALS it.

Blogger makes a good point, MAYOR SAM. Considering past history, you better separate those two on the poll. Maybe move the missing Garcetti between them so's to create the Smith-Garcetti-Villaraigosa "dumb" vote pool.

ADV's flacks just updated his website. There's an item called "Antonio outdistances fellow council members in leadership quality assessment poll conducted by former Mayor Sam Yorty"
"The momentum is --- momentous!"

Like every other issue once again Antonio is contradicting himself. I'm sure he doesn't want the westsiders to know he supports gangs and illegal immigration. No wonder why he's against gang injunctions.

Ford, Villaraigosa: more similarities than you might think. Party hacks stuck with the sentimental favorite and lost the big one in the end.

Like Ford, Antonio can not tell the truth and chew gum at the same time.

Yes! In answer to your question, Mayor Sam.

Stupid? Yes. But he's an F-ing Einstein compared to the dum-dums that keep voting for him.

Did you notice Matea Gold didn't once mention this issue in her article. Instead she focused on Tony's stab at Hahn. Need any more proof that the Times is Tony's personal PR firm. Or maybe Matea is just another of Tony's Jewish groupies.

Coming from the same racist that just said all Latinos follow Latino candidates around like lapdogs, don't think for themselves, that's pretty Funny. Check the clothes-lines, Harriman, I think your sheets dry and you can go back to being anonymuos.

Antonio is being endorsed by a woman's group? Whar are they think? It is like Jim Hahn being endorsed by the Ethics Commission. They don't mix. I know women are smarter than men but they are also much dummer. Do women know what Antonio does to them? Gets them pregnant out of wedlock then gets his friends tolie and say it is not his kid. This was before DNA testing, etc. But thought you should know the story.

Which part was anti-Semitic? "Jewish?" Don't think so, but I'll check with my Rabbi. Groupie? Not nice, but not related to any race. "Jewish Groupie?" Not unless it was to say that all Jews are groupies or all groupies are Jewish. He may only have two so-called "Jewish groupies" and no doubt the original poster probably believes he has "groupies" of many races and ethnicities.
On the other hand, saying that most or all people of one race or ethnicity behave the same is stereotypical at best, if not racist. Someone who would suggest that needs some sensitivity training.

Yup, he is stupid because he gets caught all the time. Has his wife threatened to divorce him again like when he was working for the state?

The fact that Mayor Sam has to even ask the question says it all. He has to be the dumbest candidate by far. You should hear the conversations his moron field staffers have with constituents. We should tape them because people just won't believe how really stupid ADV is and it filters down to his staff.

The call to the field office usually goes the same way. "Thank you for your call, here's why we CAN'T do what you want us to." The subtext under that is simply - don't bother me with this district drivel. My boss is running for Mayor (like he secretly promised me before I moved into this crappy area from Sacramento), and there's a pretty good chance he'll take me downtown with him.
