The Other Races

Turtle vs. Hare
CD 11: The LA Times endorses Flora Gil Krisiloff today, while the Riordan's step up and fund Bill Rosendahl.

West LA Online is a great resource of info for this race.

CD 5: I will start this by admitting these are just rumors, but I have now heard this from multiple sources - Jack Weiss may have to go after Ty Vahedi and has something juicy in order to counter the 12-month color calendar Ty Vahedi is walking door-to-door with and other traction he is starting to gain.

I'd link to Weiss, but as West LA Online will tell you, he still doesn't have a site up.

Having closely followed the three candidates for the 11th Los Angeles City Council District, I have to wonder if the authors of “A Voice for the Westside” were speaking about the same Bill Rosendahl that I met. To say that he is bombastic, divisive, and ill-informed is a complete distortion of the facts. Bill Rosendahl is not at all bombastic; rather, he speaks in a language that is plain and easily understood. Bill is anything but divisive, bringing Democrats, Republicans, Independents and other parties together to address the urgent issues and challenges now facing Los Angeles. Bill Rosendahl meets with all stakeholders to get the total picture on all of the issues. By doing this he has proven to be very well informed. After attending several District 11 LA City Council candidate forums, I have not even once seen Bill Rosendahl “table-pound” as stated in the editorial. I urge all who are interested, to view the forums that were taped by LA36 cable station, and decide for yourselves.
“A Voice for the Westside” is, in my opinion, nothing more than an attack mailer poorly camouflaged as an editorial endorsement. It is not what I expect from a reputable newspaper like the Los Angeles Times.

Thank you L.A. Times for telling us in the Westside of Los Angeles, in City Council District 11, what matters most to us. I would like to add that while you mentioned traffic and construction as being top issues for us, perhaps you neglected to mention the environment, with this definitely being the environmental district. Perhaps you also may have neglected to mention that Bill Rosendahl has the endorsements of The Sierra Club and The League of Conservation Voters, as well as a large support-backing from members of environmental groups.

As far as Cindy Miscikowski’s endorsing Flora, I doubt seriously if her endorsement is actually a positive thing to have, with our councilwoman’s eight-year-record of over-development and traffic-growth leading to gridlock in this district.

I also noted that you mentioned you liked Flora’s style at least twice. Sometimes just a few key words like that show bias. And this endorsement is reeking of bias, and it shouldn’t really be called an endorsement. It makes me question who wrote this and their motives.

As for the Times suggesting Bill Rosendahl’s strong core of endorsers are merely doing so as payback for being on his show; this is absolutely ridiculous, an insult, and a slap in the face to all of those endorsers. Rosendahl’s support from Republican leaders, as well as Democrats, shows that he has the ability to unify this district, not divide.

Sounds like Bill's campaign didn't take the Times endorsement too well. Guess superficiality doesn't work with editorial boards looking for substance.

I've been to the same forums and have found Rosendahl to pitch the simple solutions to complex issues, like his $25 billion traffic plan for the westside. And residents, like the Times, see through this thin veil. He's the perfect politician with lots of who tells everyone what they want to hear, but when it comes to a record of accomplishments for the community, he has none.

But I liked his show. Just hated that Adelphia service.

Funny how Krisiloff's consultant condemned Rosendahl's traffic plan as "pie in the sky" and now his candidate practically quotes from it chapter and verse in proposing the very same things!

Hoinest to God, why the hell would the Rosendahl campaign give a shit about the LA Times endorsement? They have the Sierra Club, the AFL-CIO, the firefighters, the Democratic Party, and anyone with any organizational muscle or connection to real people on the westside. Krisiloff has the LA Times and Cindy, who gave voters LAX Expansion and Playa Vista. I don't tyhink they're sweating it too much.

1. Rosendahl's campaign apparently care enough to write into Sister City.

2. Krisiloff's consultant was being generous calling his "traffic plan" pie in the sky. It's more of an insult to the voters, telling them that he's going to implement these $25+ BILLION traffic improvements on the Westside within 10 years. That's not a plan, but an empty promise. Wouldn't be his first.

3. Interesting how he bashes the political establishment yet brags about the endorsements of his former tv show guests.

4. If he's so pissed about Playa Vista then he should refuse the endorsement from Galanter. She was the creator and advocate who gave the district that project!

5. Finally, on a Channel 36 taping, he asks the audience, where were the electeds for the past 20 years when it comes to traffic? Again, he should look at his endorsement list and make some phone calls to ask them directly.

6. Nice to see he heeded Krisiloff's advice and gave back that Fleishman-Hillard money! Maybe he should do the same for that Adelphia Cable contribution! And here I thought they were bankrupt?

Who cares about this race when we can expose the lies and deceit of our very own Antonio Villaraigosa.

Without him, this site would be no fun. Antonio is a storm of controversy, that is why he will never be Mayor.

It is not called a Tony Bashing or Tony hating but Tony fact finding, so MEAT get it staright. You are probably soaking your (MEAT) balls in AV sauce right now.

There are plenty of places to post your anti-Antonio crap. It's becoming clear how you came up with the "attention deficit" nickname.
